  • @darktee very true. I have very thick hair and is very hard to do anything with this gatsby. But this is a good product.

  • They should put on the label "Only works with Naturally silky, smooth, and straight hair. If you have any other hair type, even if you straighten it, it wont work the same, at least for me it doesn't anyway.

  • I bought this from Japan (the big size) it's amazing :)

  • Their 'unstlyled' hair even looks better then when my hair is styled.... -_-

  • Lol pull out a random hair dryer

  • You can order Gatsby Moving Rubber, Moving Mist, Technical Design Clay, Perfect Hold Wax and even Korean Fashion such as Dangoon. Shipping World Wide!

    gatsbywax(dot)com

  • I just rebonded a month ago, is it okay to use wax to style it?

Cos i always used wax on my ''original'' hair, now that i've already rebonded my hair i would want to see how it looks like styling it like koreans.

  • I have dis stuff. Itss soooooo good (:(:

  • The back of his haircut looks so amazing, I wish i could have the same haircut.

  • yeah i tried this, in the end it looked the same and my arms were just tired lolz

  • The style of asian

  • like mizushima hiro's hairstyle...

  • eww leave the fringe ¬_¬ killed it when the genderbender touched it

  • aint it funny... 0:27 they rub it in the whole hand.. but latter just use the fingers :DD

  • they all sure is professional hair styler .. so look easy .. but i think is hard for normal ppl

  • realized i have every colour cept for purple... NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • the hairstyles are great...but i think this is not advisable for summer...specially here in the Philippines...so freaking hot..you'll die of heat stroke with that hair..haha

  • i always use gatsby but a warning to all of you that wanna buy:

make sure you're hair is kinda thinned out. if you have long, thick japanese hair like i do, you're hair wont retain its shape throughout the day. and yes i've tried using various sprays that are supposed to helpo but it really doesnt make a difference.

  • @minutes2midnite thats true

  • Someone know how should be my hair to make this haircut? And how should I cut them? I really love the back of the haircut.

  • purple should cover most styles. in japan purple is used the most cuz it works on almost any kind of style. works up to decently medium length hairs. u can also try mixing 75% purple and 25% green little of each if u have longer hair.

  • is gatsby good for me, coz i have medium short hair roughly about 6-7 centimeters, it's is extremely thick and very heavy, will gatsby be able to hold it up all day and if so which one, thanks lol

  • @leddeath80: Well, you should know that every Gatsby is made for specific hair types. For example, you said your hair is medium short, so the pink or purple gatsby would be suitable. My advice is for you to get certain hair products to smooth out your thick hair before using gatsby.

  • you want to get your hair thinned and styled

  • is gatsby really hard to wash off???

  • no. super easy.

hair will feel a bit dry thow

  • oh ok

    thank you

i just had to ask becuase i went to a hair product selling place and they said they didnt sell Gatsby becuase it was too hard to wash off TT^TT

thank you for clearing that up^^

    --thepianorabbit

  • @thepianorabbit the pink one is. it takes two or 3 showers without shampoos and maybe one and a half with shampoo

  • ohhhhhhhhhhhh TT^TT

ok thank you for the information.., maybe i should only use gatsby once in a while then.. oh wells ^^

i still have like.. 2 tubs from my relatives in asia.. ill just use it slowly

    --thepianorabbit

  • @thepianorabbit I'd have to correct you on that. I have 2 of the pink tubs that I use on a daily basis in a combination of the purple and the green, and it washes out of my hair just fine in one shower.

You probably have a different hair type. If not, then I don't know =\

  • @stillprince thanks ^^

i just got the moving rubber ones- they;re easier to wash out than the wax..

my hair types is more of the typical asian hair ... straight..

just a question, should i use deep cleansing shampoo once in a while (like once a wee) when i use wax/moving rubber???

    thank you

    --thepianorabbit

  • @thepianorabbit I have straight hair as well, but I'm not Asian xD But my hair is very adaptable to Asian hairstyles.

The moving rubber is fine since it's very light and creamy, and it doesn't leave your hair sticky. If you use the moving rubber in your hair, you don't need deep cleansing shampoo or conditioner. I have never used the Gatsby wax yet, so I don't know. Sorry =\

  • @stillprince @stillprince ok thank you

yeah i noticed when i finally used the Gatsby that it wasn't too hard to remove

i use to use Giesel- the korean wax (the organic one) that one is good too ^^

but it was harder to remove-

i wonder why the people in the hair product store told me that they didn't sell Gatsby because it was hard to wash out- maybe i asked for the wax instead of the moving rubber

btw, what can u do to style longer hair with gatsby (my friend wants to know)

    --thepianorabbit

  • @thepianorabbit As far as longer hair goes, styling your hair when it's long is very difficult unless it's layered. So, unless their hair is layered, I doubt they would be able to do much as far as using Gatsby is concerned.

  • @stillprince thanks

  • @thepianorabbit

It really depends on which moving rubber gatsby you use, I found that the purple one was easier to remove but the green one, i lost a few hairs D: so im more careful when washing my hair.

For long hair im guessing you could style it using gatsby but then hair spray it

  • @Maikaitaiyo thanks ^^

yeah im using the purple one- wild shake

it wont cause too much hair loss will it??

oh yeah and btw, does gatsby hold after workout /physical stuff???

    like badminton >>??

    thanks for you help guys

    --thepianorabbit

  • @thepianorabbit

mm I im pretty sure the purple one comes out really easily or maybe thats the grunge one :/ I personally think the green one holds better than the purple, maybe thats why its harder to get out. My hair goes flat after doing sports D: but it depends how much of a work out it is, I've never played badminton properly so i don't know =.=

  • @Maikaitaiyo hhahahaha thanks ^^

i just hate it when i style my hair then it just dies even tho i hairstprayed it

    after i have badminton practice-

is the green one the air rise?

  • @thepianorabbit Yeah i've yet to find something that works after sports, such a pain >.>

Yep green one is air rise. Im gunna go buy&try all of them lol

  • @Maikaitaiyo hahah ok tell me how that goes ^^

    --thepianorabbit

  • @thepianorabbit gatsby causes hair lost?

  • @babyblueg4o9 I've been using it for a few weeks/months now- it works fine ^^

i really like it - and no hair loss

    --thepianorabbit

  • does this one hold better or the grey one??

  • @sakuraniwashun Yeah, this one has the second best holding power.

  • which gatsby is the best all around?

  • it depends wat kind of hair u want.

spiky hair = pink, purple, grey

    curlish hair = yellow, orange

    light (boofy) hair = green

wettish (looks like wet) = blue

    something like that

  • alrite thanks for the info=]

  • @KKanno thank you for the info because im just buing from a friend :D ty!

  • @KKanno uhmm actual purple and grey is BUNDLES not spiky but ucan make it spiky if u wnt to but greay and purple is used for bundles.

  • LOL my dad lives in japan and whenever he visits my home, he brings 1~2 gatsbies.. this time i got the pink one and the purple one hahaha~~

  • where can i buy this at

  • nice i'll buy that next time

  • lol i juz bot tis

  • is dat purple or blue gatsby?

  • @DESTINYCHILD191 thats the purple one mate

  • Comment removed

  • there is o.o 'wet look' LOL

  • ooh yea ur rite

    forgot about it lol

    its "cool wet" right?

    sorry bout it lol

  • I fucking love the final haircut.

  • great video, if your lookin to purchase some gatsby online or designer clothes be sure to check out protacio [dot] com the number 1 source for hair care and apparel.

  • What's the smell from this one?

  • Apples :3

  • @GreeceUnknownBoy By the way, all the moving rubbers' smells are apple.

  • anyone live in Canada/Mississauga/Toronto area and know any good hairstylist places? i was thinking of getting this one. but not exactly ? :O!

  • try checking out pacific mall? i know they got a bunch of hair salons there that are pretty good.

  • Isnt it so expensive , heard some asian friend that went somewhere spent 300$ just for a japanese haircut.. i DONT want to spend thatmuch XD! cause you know how the include highlights etc. pressure you uinto it.

  • uhh not really, last time i went it was only like 30$ or less.

  • noo wayy , wait what did you ask for? ;O

did you ask to from a picture *which i want to do* and say like layer it and all? kept it simple or gave alot of detail?

  • lol my friend did mine for five dollars

    twenty for bleach and color

    gatbsy was about 9 dollars

i asked her where she learned this

she said trial and error on her own hair

try it out yourself but leave room for if you mess up to get a pro to fix it

then try again in a month when it grows back

but that's awkward so maybe not

    just some random advice xD

  • Miyuki in Maya (on bloor in korean town). Owner is Korean, but Miyuki is Jap. It's cheap and she's very experienced. Only $15 for a mens' hair cut. Can't get any better. She's quite well known in dt toronto so she's usually very booked up. Need to book a week in advance.

  • yeah! i just recently found out about places in ktown! maybe shes the one i was going to go at?! i was thinking this weekend , but i may have to re schedule for next. let my hair grow out ;O thanks guys.

  • hey guys question my hair isnt layered but texture but i guess thats the same thing anyways I have like a robert pattison kind of look messy and bed head with 3 inch long hair which gatsby should I use?

  • spiky edge (red/pink-ish one)

  • Wat is the best for Long medium hairstyle , and make it hard so it wont move?

  • why can't some guys at my scchool have this hair , if they want to achieve the "asian" look and not those HUGE so -called " anime" hair.

my friend and i thinks those are so .... not cool. i mean, this is so simple and casual, and not all IN YO FACE and BOOM.

  • I have the same hair but not layered.

I want to know what should I asked my barber to have a haircut like this guy in the video?

  • i usually print pictures for my hairstylist to follow,..and also, i prefer salon or parlor with my mom for my haircut and not in a barbershop..

  • me too ^_^

  • not layered? ur spikes r gonna look like squares then

  • I have short/medium hair and I style it into a Faux Hawk, which Gatsby whould work for me?

  • well pink, purple and grey will work, just depends on how much glossiness you want

  • do they sell this in 99 ranch stores? there's like two here in artesia.

  • yeah, i bought mine at a 99 ranch store.

Found it in the shampoo section i think?

  • holy crap that looks amazing.

  • can u plz tell me what u need to tell the barber when they cut your hair??

  • u need to go to Japan to get haircuts and styles. The barbers in America don't know how to cut Japanese hair and there is a specific way of cutting and styling. But you will have to pay twice or even triple of what u pay over in the US.

  • NO! You can go to China town to get layered hair cut.

And it depends on your hair. Asians have thin hair. Caucasian have really think hair.

So Asians basically can only pull of this type of hair..

  • True. You can go to Chinatown to get a cheap knock off of the "Japanese hair style" but it won't be the same.

And you are wrong, I know just as many Asians as I do Caucasians who have thin hair and thick hair. I have seen many foreigners in Japan who have Japanese hair styles and Japanese who have thick hair which they can't.

Some people are so ignorant lol.

  • umm thats because they go to the salons and thin their hair or they straighten their hair. duuhh

  • well not all asians have thin hair my and you don't need to have thin hair to be able to pull of this type of hair. I'm an asian myself but i have very bad hair but I can make that type of hair... it's pretty hard though and it takes time.

  • watch my video and spread the word

  • you want to have layers. and depending which gatsby you want to use, you dont want to have too long of hair. so short-ish to medium-ish. all really depends on you, though.

  • at a local asian store like in las vegas i go to a store kalled tokyo discount

  • ah so THATs how they do it !! .... errr hmm just gave away that i am a lame-O

  • Where I live, there is a Jap store called Mitsuwa...I get it there for 7.00 dollars.

  • ebay or amazon

  • Amazon has them for about $10. I dunno how long it'll last for you, but my friend's hairdresser has something like it for about about the same amount and she said it was about $17.

  • I live in england sorry cant help you.

  • i like the smell of gatsby =]

  • yeah gatsby smells really nice compared with other types of wax

  • loved the hair...

  • hmmm never thought about using the hair dryer before

  • omg their hair is so friggin perfect!

  • wat does the color even do ?

  • the color is for different types of Gatsby..

like purple is for loose crazy hair lol...

  • It mainly is to show that it's for certain hair lengths, looks, etc., especially so you know which way you'll want your hair to look like in the end.

  • moving rubber (clay wax) is pretty cheap in the philippines.

  • how big r the mobile sizes?? like compare to a quarter or something

  • lol actually its slightly just slightly bigger than a quarter XD they're still pretty useful though when you need to make adjustments later on or something

  • Uh...it doesn't melt, and it certainly isn't greasy. Its kind of sticky, but you can't even see it.

Basically, you're just a fuck, kthx

  • the sides and lower front fringe wont hold up against a gust of wind. the wind will just blow it back. this hair style only works if you stay indoors for a short period. after a couple of hours the gatsby wax starts to disintegrate into a greasy flat heavy stodge and you'll lose all shape. i know because i use the purple one all the time.

  • Maybe that's because you don't use hairspray?

  • Gatsby wax isn't a strong product on its own.. rather.. all waxes aren't that strong.

That's why it gives you that 'grunge matt' look, because it doesn't set as hard as say... gel.

You should use hairspray to solidify your style after using Gatsby.

  • Yeah, I actually bought the mobile purple just to try it out. (I usually use the grey one) It did not work for my hair at all. My hair is extremely fine, and it just didn't work. So I stuck with the grey one. Maybe try that one?

  • For fine, non-asian hair, you need to use hairspray to get these kind of styles. After using a harder wax, (avoid putting wax in roots!) spray sections of your hair, then back-comb (fags call this "teasing") your hair and repeat 3-4 times with spray.

I used to work as a host and modeled for Men's Egg. Because I'm blonde naturally my hair required much more work than the Japanese dudes.

  • thin and layer ur hair

  • Comment removed

  • Hey, im going to get my hair cut and if you could thin it out and layer it, it would be great.

    - i would like to get my hair layered like this:

    Front: Semi-long

back: medium, but long at tails

side: semi-short, but long at burns

    top: medium

and, if your could style it a little, so my front hair isnt just flat, and accuary, just slice it a little bit ?

  • Long burns?

    What that?

  • hmm, just forget about the long burns, u dont really need it

  • i think he meant sideburn

  • love it

  • I have the "Cool Wet," the blue one. It's much easier to shape your hair than with normal cheap gel. You put some on your hand and you spread it throughout your hair, and it doesn't get hard! But it still holds amazingly. It looks wet, but not as wet and does not cluster your hair as much as gel so it really gives you an easy gateway into doing those Asian hairstyles.

  • don't u reckon the music is used for pornos?

  • lmao

  • i got the wild shake (the purple one) 3 days ago, and im suprised a little bit. that wax has strong hold, really. O.O and i's pretty easy to spyke with that. so i think gatsby is a pretty cool product, in 'white-caucasian' hair too! btw. i want to be hairdresser, and if anyone need hair make tip for gatsby, or how to use wax, to spyking, etc feel free to ask. or if u want one 'gatsby hair make / asian style hair make on white man' video, than ask me for it.

  • spread it through your hair then flat iron buddy

  • don't do that. it damages your hair.

  • wut does this 1 smell like ???

  • i just got this one, it smells kinda like grape. it's really good

  • hey i have like short hair, its not even touching my ears so which 1 is suitable for my hair? or should i wait for it to grow longer?

  • depend on ur perference..each type of it has different features..like mine i prefer mat type..

  • is mat the rough look texture? like not glossy?

  • yuppie~

  • pink is good for short hair .

  • straight hair is my dream..

  • buy a straightening iron

  • Get a better dream.

  • LOL

  • lol it didn't look that great when he was doing it. a stylist musta came in and fixed up his hair for the end result XD

  • im holding that exact gatsby in my hands right now=O I didnt know my hair can turn out soo well=D gatsby all the way!

  • Wow that looks like my hair style!!

    Sayounara people ^^

  • i like this one , cuz the hair style is like Koji Seto's haistyle , maybe ill buy it

  • pink - spiky edge is besttttt :D:D:D:D:D

  • omfg asian hair is so awesome >_>

  • ofcuz cuz asians has a good sense of style

  • i like using the green one, the purple and the grey...those rock :D need to stock up on more when i go back to japan.

  • couldn't you order them off a site? assuming you live in the US.. I've seen some people recommend webichi . com

  • i have this too, purple one. it works great, even on my thick wavy hair (i use leave in conditioners, blowdry, then straighten my hair first).

  • i love this stuff!!!

  • does this stuff works if u have curled hair? i hate my curls and i was wondering if this would help getting it more style..

  • i got friends with curly hair and they straighten theirs before styling it , u should try that too

  • like OD?

or does it look like the guy in dis clip?

my hair its curled 2 similar to dis guy

  • my friend has curled hair.

Your best off getting a Mullet+ perm and OVER=thin it. And say make ur mullet pointy.

ANyways its really hard to style really curled hair. I recommend green for wet look and it makes ur hair NOT stand up... and pink/grey for hard styling..

  • Cool wet(blue) could work for curly hair. since it's more of a gel texture.

  • purple is the best one.

  • i have this one and the green one they work perfect gatsby is the best hair wax!

  • what is the name of this house track? .. can anyone tell me >? .. HOUSE HOUSE HOUSE HOUSE....

  • hmm...ic, this things really expensive here..

but why this thing called "moving rubber"..?

  • because its made of rubber

  • why so hard to style it...

    huhu

  • erm...i dunno whether is my skin prob or not...cuz evrytym i use it on my hair, there will b kinda like oily things...esp at my forehead...cuz my hair r like tis guys,it's covered on my forehead...n my forehead bcomr vr oily so i need 2 mop away tat oil(by using gatsby oil clear sheet...mayb tis's their strategy?? XD)but it really nice 2 use
