I live in this town and just got back from sleep away camp and hadn't known about it untill Saturday after it started and when I turned on my cell phone I had over 50 text messages of pictures of the fire and people texting me for comfort and telling me that they had evacuated. This fire has brought the entire county together, but I am happy to say that most people are able to go back to there house only being ready to go at any moment if the winds change.
please show more from now July 5 at 2 pm. There is no real coverage on this breaking story. Also what is happening north of the fire. Which way is the fire moving?
so far almost 9000 acres. The fire is traveling north which is uphill over the summit and west too. We are all just praying the sundowners don't kick -up and blow the fire into the populated areas. It stretches from Old San Marcos rd. to Embarcadero Cyn. and upwards, It's a mess.
Great video. It really gives a sense of the size and intensity of the flames. My daughter lives on Padova Dr. and had to leave the country on the 4th, so thanks for helping me keep tabs on the fire.-- A worried mom in Watsonville
