I need help...I'm making a simple slideshow, but I need to edit and trim my photo's to make them fit to the music, right? Well my entire edit bar (except for the duration of the photo) is grey, and I can't edit my video at all! Please tell me how to fic this..?
Does anyone know how to add a picture to a video clip? Like, make it small and put it on the video clip in the corner? I tried the 'add video and photos' icon, but that just added a photo AFTER the video clip. And, I clicked the caption button and tried pasting the photo in the text box, but that didn't work either. D:
In the old one it was easy because you could just add the pics/videos you wanted after importing them from into wmm but now they all go onto the storyboard at one and you have to rearrange them. why cant we just start at the start of our movie and work our way to the end instead puting more in as we go.
we could also view the content before putting it in the video on the last one. whiy cant we just do this . it not an "upgrade" if its worse
the fact that you cant see your videos and pictures and audio like you did in movie maker 2.0 or 2.6 really makes me regret using this verison, its not praticle and isnt as good as the others, even though it crashes less. the only redeeming thing about this verison is the export quality, and even taht brightens the video automaticly and adds these gross borders that get brighter and brighter each time your export your vid, and you cant stop it.
A storyboard is so &*%$# annoying! In an era where monitors are getting wider, not taller, you go ahead and wreck the beautiful timeline in WMM6 with a vertical system that's always got line breaks. At least copy Apple's good ideas, rather than the iMovie 08/09 garbage that even my Apple friends can't stand! [They've kept using iMovie 06 in Snow Leopard, just like I use WMM6 Vista in W7. Just goes to show: people will use what they want, not what they're told.]
I HATE STORY BOARD!!!!!!!!!! Time line is way better ok thats it thumbs up if the original Windows Movie Maker is better than Windows Live Movie Maker. even though the origonal freezes aot more there was way more you could do with it. windows live is a cheep sac of poopy :P
@YuThePichu Unfortunately you can't speed up video clips in the current version of Windows Live Movie Maker, but that feature is now available in the new Windows Live Beta. You can download the Beta here:
i only downloaded WLMM cos i coud make HD vid's because i hav windows 7 and had to have WMM 2.6, but the option on WLMM are so oimted compared to the normal one and it was way easier to edit vid's, and if you only want one part of a song you cant, u have to hav it from the beginning.
i have this one to now, but i like the story board of the wondows live messenger from before more, does anyone know how i can turn it back, but still have the new version?
Sorry, but you can't speed up/slow down clips currently in Windows Live Movie Maker. Please let the developers know you'd like to see that effect included in future releases:
Bring back the timeline! Has anyone in MSFT tried to drag photos to specific and variable points of a song? Well, it can't be done! You have to manually input the duration of a clip, and hope it matches the point on the song you want. What an UGLY way to edit! It's really too bad MSFT has forsaken the 1000's of loyal MM enthusiasts who have begged for a timeline in the past year. Thankfully, it's easy to find WMM6 for W7 on YouTube.
Interesting, but it seems hard to keep track on how much time each individual clip takes in the video. You'd have to click each clip to view how long it would take, which is rather annoying.
you could hover over the item to get a tooltip that indicates the duration. But I agree that to know the start time you would need to click on the item.
@WindowsVideos How do you extract the sound from the Video like in the old one? :S

Windows Live Movie Maker will speed up or slow down your videos.
It can publish your videos and photos to Flickr.
You can even take snapshots from your video clip.
You can edit High Definition video files without any problem at all.
Also, if you have Windows 7, you can easily record from your Webcam directly into WLMM.
Download the latest beta version of Windows Live Movie Maker from here: explore.live .com/windows-live-essentials-beta

There's a solution to that - use the slider in the lower right hand corner to zoom in and out on time, which will expose relative length!
