  • I was not born here but I love living here. It takes everyone to make it better here.

  • I noticed a distinct absence of Hilldale High. Where's some love for the Hornets?

  • Good thing I kept copies of mine so I can repost. I hope the others' whose posts are missing did, too. This just further reaffirms that the people of Muskogee aren't allowed to voice opinions that go against the "elite."

  • Oh, my goodness! There's a bunch of comments missing. All the disagreeing ones, the ones showing the negative side of Muskogee, are missing. Yet the sarcastic ones aimed at them are still here. hmmmmm.......

  • Cool

  • the uss batfish scene any body know who that couple is. i heard them in lubbock tx two weeks ago at the comfort inn and really love to hear more of there music thank you

  • this sounds like north providence Rhode island My hometown

  • ohhh hammm....gonna missss you!!!!!

  • Be we DO show our movie in Muskogee! "Every Hidden Thing" shows at the Roxy at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 18! See you there!

  • What's with negativity people?? Where is the love???? I was born in Muskogee!

  • What's up with all the negativity people? Where is the love???? I'm proud to be an Okie from Muskogee!!! (or Muscogee)

  • I loved this Video!!! I always tell people I am an Okie from Muskogee cause of every place in Oklahoma they have heard of Muskogee. It is a wonderful place to visit and an even better place to live!

  • Very cute video. Been putting some of my g-ma's old albums on CD (from Burt Bacharach to Buck Owens) and found the Okie From Muskogee.. Live from the Muskogee Civic Center among them. They bought it in 1970. Back cover was a kick. M.H. wanted to visit his fathers people in the Muskogee area and went on to tell about the show and how the music could hardly be heard over the applause.

I guess Im a subspecies of the lesser species... from a smaller, more political town than Muskogee. (:

  • you know i figured out about this video because i went to a hotel

  • That's great! Can you let us know which hotel so we can thank them?

  • I like it Thanks guys. Good song and what countrys all about. Fun, life and a smile.

  • Yee haw... Hilarious!

  • Great job Chamer Chicks! We've sent this to all our friends & are getting a lot of smiles & thumbs up.

Can't help but wonder about the negative nellies. Must have been something in their Post Toasties.

  • @jpblair9 I kinda like hangin' out with the "lesser species" too. I'll bet we have some of the same "friends in low places" jp.

As for the upper species .........oh well, they've "gracefully bowed out."

  • The Chamber Chicks, Greg, Blair & the cast of hundreds did a great job of celebrating the 40th anniversary of Hag's little ditty about Muskogee.

There will always be a few like rustic butt & simpleton who like to tear things down, but the majority of folks in Muskogee are trying hard to build a better community.

Maybe a couple of well placed, in-style,leather boots are needed from time to time to keep the naysayers straightened out. :-) Manly footwear will do that you know.

  • @14inthe gee:

You're wise beyond your years if you are indeed 14.

Muskogee has produced many fine citizens. Some have stayed, and some have moved on to wherever life leads.

  • Oh, I wish I were 14 again LOL! :) I'm actually in my mid 30's. You are right about Muskogee producing many fine citizens. I think people would be surprised. Just one afternoon spent in the genealogy and local history section of the Muskogee Public Library would teach people so much about about our wonderful citizens.

  • But that is just it..... it is all HISTORY. Modern day Muskogee is much different.

  • Way to go Chamber! You did a great job on the video. Even though Okie from Muskogee was written as satire, we are known by that song. Way to embrace it and use it to our advantage. I am proud to be a citizen of Muskogee and look forward to shaping it to the better for the future!

  • Muskogee, if we want this town cleaned up and changed for the better, then lets do it! The PEOPLE are the city. {The only people who get input in the decisions are those who show up}- that's just not so! Let's organize our own groups and get to work making this town what we want it to be. Muskogee belongs to all of us, not just a few.

  • I completely agree! The people are the city! Anyone willing to contribute to a positive difference is needed! Thanks!

  • You're welcome!

  • Going by your post it sounds as if you believe normal everyday people can't make changes in Muskogee. That you have to be part of the "in" crowd. That simply isn't true. I know several everyday people here in Muskogee that have made a difference in our town. They do not come from money or good old boy families. Action is what makes for change. Not sitting around complaining.

  • Loved this video and thanks to all of those who put their time into it! Great job highlighting all the things to do in Muskogee and places not to miss! A beautiful city to live in!

  • Nicely done!

  • Ladies and Gentlemen.

    @ 1:38 Ted Aukerman!!!!

  • Yay Ted!

  • It's time to produce another big feature film in Muskogee. The city has tons of ideal locations, great local talent and inspired film craftsmen ready to help create a winner.

    It's my favorite Oklahoma town!

  • @thesimpletruth1 Respectfully disagree. Muskogee is transforming itself into a laid back paradise for musicians, filmmakers and artisans. In fact, Muskogee is well on the way to becoming the film capital of Oklahoma.

  • *Sigh*, now I'm homesick....

  • I love Muskogee... my hometown! We are so blessed to live here! Great video! Excellent job!

  • great job!! everybody involved was wonderful! Greg, top notch work!!

  • Still is a place That I wouldlike to visit for a day or two.

  • @dirtmans15 - So sad you feel that way, yes there are some problems as there are in any town - anywhere - but overall Muskogee is an awesome place to live, love, laugh and appreciate life. Hope someday you can find that for yourself.

  • That was a GREAT JOB..........thanks Muskogee.........from an Okie in SC

  • I am the bartender in the background wearing the zebra shirt!!!

  • I love being an Okie from Muskogee!

  • Fabulous!! I'm proud to be an Okie from Muskogee!!

  • Simply Awesome, wish the song was longer so we could show more people places and events too. Cudos to Alisha and the Chamber Chixs.

  • It may not be Merle Haggard singing the original Okie from Muskogee, but you can see these Okie's had a ton of fun.

  • Fun to see where our Okey friends live - hope to visit some day! Great song too!

  • LOVE THIS! Great job everyone!

  • The "milk shots" cracked me up - good job, y'all!

    Adam
