Reminds me of growing up in the 90's down the road from where this was filmed, really. Used to see this shit every day except with more yardies and the "gun" actually being brought. Winstone was great at acting the "southern" Cockney accent in this (yes, there's a difference between the East and South in that way) but it's when he goes mad in scene likes this his Eastern roots come out and fall out of character.

Forgive me for saying this but this scene actually becames funny once you've seen it several times! Just the way he turns on the neighbour, completely losing his rag, I find it kind of funny in a dark way. Of course it's taken out of context (I have seen the whole film and it's powerful stuff) and I certainly wouldn't find this kind of thing funny if I witnessed it in real life.
