  • I can only say: incredible!!!!

  • music is evrywhere around us...you only have to get it!

  • buy a 100000 violin and have to insure it, keep the wood in the right humidy, and buy a case for it... or go to home depot with 20 bucks and get the saw And the toolbox to keep it in.

    Logical choice, really

  • Dear world,

    Please explain

    Sincerely,

Every violin player in the world

  • I don't understand why Simon Cowell buzzed him on the other video. This is amazing. A saw's purpose was not made for music, but he devises a way to play it in an extraordinary way.

  • my calculus teacher sent me a link to this in an email Lol

  • Amazing!

  • Now you can play a instrument that sounds closely to a violin... Without paying for a violin!

  • @dra6o0n You'd still need that handle for a violin though. =P

  • @dra6o0n only because you grew up with people saying "violin is an instrument and a saw is a tool", it doesn t mean that this isn t art!....if it was for people like you violin wouldn t be an instrument! i can see it....1st time a musician played a violin: "ahah what is it?! you are playing wood and chord?"

  • genioooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I wonder if he gives lessons

  • at what point in history did somebody think, "i wonder if i could play that there saw with a bow"?

  • @creamyfilling102

at what poiint in history did somebody think, "i wonder if i can bow into holes and create different sounds by covering some of those holes"

  • @creamyfilling102

    A hillbilly who found a bow. :P

Not much more insane than other any instrument~

  • Musical saw sounds a bit crude, maybe thats why it's so un popular, what if they caled it the "musical flat sheet of bendable metal"

  • So much better than the talent show audition.

  • sounds like a theremin

  • Utterly amazingly beautiful.

  • Bravo!!!!!!!! I like very much saw playing!

  • wonderful....hauntingly beautiful:)

  • This is sheer bliss. Only thing I don't get is.. who tried this first? And what possessed them to do so?! (similarly to eating yoghurt, making wine and cornflakes - google it.)

  • Seriously, if I heard this, and a violin playing the same song? Don't think I'd tell the difference if not told one was a saw.

  • He is the best saw musician I have ever seen!!

  • @adiman83 REALLY. KEEP THIS MUSIC STRAIGHT PURE, FUCK THE BULLSHIT. HES WAS CONFIDENT IN HIS APPROACH TO BRINGING IT OUT.

  • ok, now let's try running chainsaw

  • I would love to have this guy play at my wedding!

  • Not half bad !

  • this is probably the most bizarre thing i've seen in awhile.

  • does the bow need rosin? because I've got a bow, and there's a saw out back...

  • thats just incredible , what kind of saw do you use?

  • It's sounds remind me of a perfectly well-tuned violin in the hands of a perfectly capable musician. That should be a fitting praise for this amazing young man.

  • make more videos plz

  • (after the concert) "MY THIGHS ARE STILL BUZZING!!! THAT FELT LIKE A COLONY OF BEES WAS DOING THE TARENTELA ON MY LEG!!!"

  • its cheaper than a violin too!

  • It s a case where the locals appreciate....and the rest are incapable. I would never compare a Stradivarius to an instrument for cutting wood.

But perhaps that is where Britian resides.

  • wow.. beautiful

  • @adiman83 I agree 1000%.

  • sounds a lot like a violin

  • esse cara me da arrepios, ele sente a musica, quando sentimos a musica tudo vira musica, é incrivel.

  • Comment removed

  • Thanks Austin! Greetings from Spain.

  • Anyone here heard of Julian Kostner? Check out Neutral Milk Hotel, they have a singing saw and many other weird instruments that are just amazing.

  • i am wondering if he can play on his dick!

  • How the hell do you do that???

  • Nice Tie!

  • Close your eyes and what do you hear? Not a saw. This man has an amazing gift. Not commercial enough for Simon Cowell. Screw him, you go for it Austin!

  • this is amazing!

seems like 7 people prefer hammers

  • @Wertmemzaari Funny cuz hes holding a wooden hammer to bend the saw xD

  • @DesentBlood25

hahah I didn't notice that at all!

  • Truly amazing!

  • for that 7 people I will use the saw , but not to sing in front of them

  • Its sounds like a mix between a violin played at high octaves and a oprah singer and needs the skill of something like a therimin to play it -_-'

Very nice sounding all the same.

  • Oh my god .boy you are the best

  • Al principio es algo ridiculo, pero despues ponganse a pensar q capacidad... Impresionante!!!

  • anyone who says the saw isn't an instrument can go fuck themselves with barbed wire

  • @ishouldplayzelda Speaking of barbed wire, apparently, you can play that with a bow too. :)

  • @turboleaf i actually saw a video of that around the time i learned about the saw. it actually doesn't sound too bad

  • Do you play rock music on a skill saw? Wonderful I wish I could get mine to sound so beautiful.

  • Do you play rock music on a skill saw?

  • I saw this is Bath in 1997, it's not an unusual thing, freaked me out then still does now, I wonder what brand of saw is used, what's it with B&Q and Homebase have they not realized they need to use this guy to advertize their saws

  • If he can play that saw as an instrument for a correct melody then he hav a great ear for the music, It is good he promoted the saw as a musical instrument but he is maybe wasting oportunity with that ear, ofc bcuz he is alone playing a saw when nobody teach him how, he discover it sounds and he copy or represent the sound he needs with the saw, got precision for notes thats enough for my argue

  • wish him all the best

  • @nuksucow1983 I Don't think so

  • @nuksucow1983 hah not everyone whos a beast on an instrument is autistic

  • it's so beautiful!!!!!!!!

  • toca no fundo da alma (pra quem tem)....

muito bom mesmo, incrivel sensibilidade as notas são perfeitas um dom pra poucos parabens e muito sucessoooooooo....

  • 6 people like justin bieber

  • @ikikumm

    hahaaaa

  • 0:32 TRILL on SAW!!!!!!!

  • @1nsane0bject what???

  • Austin, you're the best saw player I have ever heard Keep making beautiful music!

  • Incrível... fantástico!

  • maravilloso

  • he is too good for bgt

  • you should teach people on youtobe to play musical saw.

  • Fantastic! This guy has an amazing talent, there is no fret board on a saw. Simon Cowell couldn`t make any money from this act on BGT so he buzzed him. You go Austin and prove him wrong.

  • @miketravis you nailed it. simon cowbell, all this guy thinks and cares about is money. he explicitly tries to point out that money=happiness.maybe he'll spend his next life as a beggar. austin's playing is priceless.

  • Austin you're a genius and a pioneer. Over the next few 100 years, people will pick this up and develop even greater sounds from this instrument, as you are demonstrating are possible. It's like the ultimate combination between a violin and a soprano singer. On behalf of the musical community, I praise your innovation, may you be remembered forever!

  • We're gonna witness a birth of a new instrument

  • Just lovely!

  • Now that's how you survive this economy!

  • i love saws.. xD so useful

as a tool, and as an instrument XD

  • The music brings me goosebumps xD its played so wonderful.

  • @Nina00kathy

That's sooo true.... it allwayst brings me goosebumps

  • that's some true ingenuity by whoever realized a saw could double as an instrument. bravo.

  • when he shakes his right leg it gives it vibrato :O i just realized it haha

  • oh he did not. i was just thinking it would be beautiful if he played this and here it is.....

  • I dont know why but this guy plays the saw like no other. i love it!

  • it ironic that something such as a saw that can be dangerous can be so beautiful and gentle.

  • @RobTheWho2 musical saws are usually not sharpened, so they're not that dangerous. :P

  • @RobTheWho2 Yeah, I get that all the time

  • My colleagues and I are impressed, an advanced bow technique and instinctively lyrical phrasing. Bravo.

  • (claping) amazing

  • I thought it sounded beautiful by itself but it sounds even better in unison with another instrument like the piano or violin.

  • wow

  • Beautiful!

  • How come?

  • Why the "Largo"? It's a great vocal melody that would work well on the saw.

  • I love that.

How about Handel's "Largo" from "Xerxes"?

  • He is the modest man ever!

  • Excellent and beautiful, never heard such thing before....

  • Cute + talent + nice

  • The chap must have really excellent ears to be able to produce sounds like that.

To play a note on the piano, you hit the right key, sure got the note. But on the saw, you have to memorise every bends, lengths, twist and position of the bow.

And If simon cowell cannot see that, then he knows nothing about music, all he knows is how to make money out of other peoples talent that sells.

All he cared was big bucks.

Anyway, MUST the saw be complete with sharp teeth to play this music?

  • it is a musical saw, not the standard construction saw....no teeth, the metal is thinner to bend, and the metal blade is constructed in a fashion for easier bend

  • Many years ago, and I'm going back over 50 years now, I saw a man play the musical saw on a standard Spear and Jackson handsaw. They were much more flexible than the present day hardened point saws. He would use his bare hand to make the "S" shape. More recently I have seen a street performer in Bath play a similar saw although with a lever to help bend the saw. You cannot play a modern saw, but many a fine tune can be played on an old one.

  • i knew hed get far :' ) will the saw ever be globally recognised as a musical instrument? will we hear it in orchestras and operas? who knows :3

    .xXx.

  • Beautiful. Simply amazing the music he can produce with a bow and a saw.

  • really talented not sure bout the outfit tho lol

  • ahh...he shakes his leg up and down to make trills...=P

  • i'm glad he didn't give up after britains got talent

  • exactly !

    P.S. siman is jerk !

  • tru

  • fantastic!!

  • amazing I love Austin Blackburn <3<3!

  • Coool!!!!

  • other handler then in BGotTalent and much batter voice! very cleen!

  • That's.... AWESOME!

It's sounds amazing, but I seriously cannot take the serious expression on his face when he has a saw between his legs lol.

  • Well if I was holding a saw between my legs I reckon I'd have a very serious expression on my face.. One slip could be a life changing experience.

  • I don't care if he looks like the cross eyed banjo boy from deliverance- He can sure play that effin saw!

  • so beautiful
