  • I've been through this one. It wasn't bad at all. Just some periods of brief heavy downpours and breezy conditions. If I recall correctly, the winds were 15-25 MPH in Boca which is still not much less than in Miami.

  • is this the eye?!?!?!?!?!

  • This was an event similar to that wave we had a few weeks ago. I wasn't here for Barry because I was on vacation.

  • well in florida you get a severe thunderstorm every day so 6 year olds dont go crying to mommy there when theres a thunderstorm.

  • So what is Miami really like? When you guys get big storms and you have to evacuate, can you take your pets? Are the utilities really expensive in Miami? Do the jobs pay well there? I am in Las Vegas, I hate it and just wanted to know about Miami.

  • @sickwiththetruth Miami is great to visit but a crime infested shithole to live in. put it at that.

  • this is key biscayne

  • Hi camarajunior79. Yes...portions of the clip are from Key Biscaye. The first part is just off the eastern approach to the William M. Powell bridge on the Rickenbacker Causeway, looking southeast towards the Miami Seaquarium on Virginia Key. The latter part includes shots from Bear Cut and of the Cape Florida lighthouse in Bill Baggs State Park on Key Biscayne.

  • Do you have footage of Fay?

  • i think i was i that storm

  • I might not look bad from shore but my Coast guard cutter was going through it on turbines at 22kts on a search and resue case. 20 ft seas are not fun in the trough

  • Now i see why it isn't one of your amazing videos.

  • Even so Tropical Storm Barry was a very welcome rainmaker for us (Central Florida) we should consider Barry a wakeup call or warning shot for what's to come! Among your regular hurricane preparations you should take a look at: EvacuationHelp dot com -- thanks.

  • Nice video

  • What makes something a Tropical Storm. I thought the winds had to be in excess of 35 MPH or something and I know the storm has to circulate but there wasn't really any wind associated with Barry. By the way, didn't Miami get 7" of rain?

  • Hi, the maximum sustained wind speed of a tropical cyclone determines its designation. Basically, when winds are 20-35mph it is considered a Tropical Depression; 40-70mph it is a Tropical Storm and given a name; 75+ it is a hurricane. In this case, Barry had max winds of 45-50mph, thus the Tropical Storm designation. That said, those stronger winds were near the point of landfall on Florida west coast, Miami only saw 25-30mph winds...Miami did get 7" of rain recently, but not from Barry.

  • this is going to be a active season.

    la nina is brewing up.

  • Whoops I though I alrady posted a reply... I guess it never got posted.

    - Cool video. I like the shots at around 2 minuits the best. I also thought it was pretty funny watchingthe bikers zoom by on the time lapse portion

  • Thanks Chris! Yeah, I like the look of that cell at 2min in too. The contrast between the bright white tops and the dark blue/grey base, against the bright green of the ocean looks really cool (especially in HD). And yeah, those zooming bikers have been immortalized on YouTube...haha.

  • Hey micheal thanks for the vid.Take care adrian

  • Hi Adrian - Thanks for the comment, glad you liked the video.

  • Let the fun begin...

  • Right!!! It certainly feels that way. =^O
