Feilhaber has been getting minutes lately although he didn't look great last time out.

@zachhh182 Results?! The ONLY reason Freddy was getting playing time for Aris recently was because it was a cup and the coach used a rotation system to make sure players got rest. Now, I COULD have seen Freddy coming over Feilhaber, but that's it and even then, Feilhaber still provides skill and creativity comparable to Freddy's, as well as bite, some degree of defensive ability, a higher work rate, and a lot more strength on the ball, although Freddy's work rate seems to have improved a lot.

If we had played in Torres' spot next to Bradley, Adu would be overwhelmed by the defensive work he would have had to do and it would have left a space wide open in front of the defense, just like on the first goal. He may have been good at the U20's against weaker defenders, but when the players get older and bigger, he doesn't do as well. Torres is still a better option with more skills.

I was at this game in Nashville. Nashville had a terrible atmosphere and this was a quiet US crowd compared to say, Columbus or Los Angeles.

No, the MLS is not like "Big European Teams", but fans who support big Euro teams are fairweather tossers. The *true* fans are the ones who support the smaller clubs and love the game. St. Pauli and Chivas (Both of them) for life. If you just pay attention to the big Euro clubs, you're not watching football.
As for the US, I am glad that the US plays a very Latin American style, a lot like Mexico and Honduras, although the US really does rely too much on set pieces.

Yeah, it's true. The first goal against Honduras in the group stages and the first goal against Spain in the semifinal are very good examples of that. Good passing, touch, quick, creative interchanges and clinical finishing as well. More players like Benny Feilhaber, Jose Torres, Stuart Holden and Charlie Davies are becoming starters and these guys know how to keep the ball very well. It's possession first for these guys and soon enough we'll be able to keep the ball against better teams.

(a ten year old kid could have stopped that going in - it's a simple catch he throws his body in the wrong direction before lamely waving at the ball as it goes in. the US striker is not close enough to the keeper for it to be that much of a problem)
If the US national team never have to face a higher standard of oposition than this to qualify, they will never make a major impact on world football.
