Have you ever had any problems with the eggs turning transparent after 2 days of being the proper tan-ish color? I thought all of my recent eggs had been eaten then realized they were all transparent....Any thoughts?

hey! congratulations your tank is awesome! im a big fan of rams, haven't actually bough mine though, this because they´ll be available on my local aquarium until next week, but.. .

i wanted to know if you'd be so kind to advice me..ive heard they won't last long in water that is not "old" .. my tank's water is about 1.5 months old, dunno if that is near enough...

also, in what water parameters do you keep them? are they sensible to plant products such as seachem iron ? what about the light?

Hey i have had rams for a while and they breed between 6 and 9 times and i still have no babies my ph is about 7.0 i have tried to lowere with no aval got any hints to save my eggs/hatchlings??

@charmedPhan make sure you have a current going through or over the eggs. Water movement is key, it keeps the eggs fresh, not allowing bacteria or fungus or anything kill the eggs. Some people use air bubbles.

Thanks. I had them for about 2 months before they paired up and decided to breed. If you already have a pair, I would suggest getting rid of snails and loaches first. Then place a few smooth flat items on the bottom of the tank for them to lay eggs on. Then feed them with blood worms and do a few water changes to get them in the mood and they should breed! Good Luck!

Yes, some rams will die soon after mating. and yes, many babies will die at the beginning. Make sure you don't have snails and algae eaters in your tank because they love fish eggs.

Thanks! they were in the tank for about 2 months before they started breeding. I chose them out of a tank of Rams. We had about 50 babies.
