  • @TheAlohagil Yes sister!!

  • @TheAlohagil ...You know it! Been watching Santana since 69, graduated from H S in 71. In San Diego, Santana has been doing concerts at SDSU since 69! Almost every other year it seems. In the old University football field was the best, you would bring in your blanket, ice chest, short lawn/beach chairs a frisby, some beer and some joints.

Then the amphitheater was cool, all good seats, But concrete ass hurt(See Sade at sdsu) Now the BIG basket ball court is used for concerts. Still smoking :)

  • 3 people dont have a Soul to Sacrifice

  • The drums. The drums. The drums. I can't get over this sense of bliss. This is gold, folks. Pure gold. Too bad kids nowadays are so unproductive, spending time, wasting time playing video games. America must be reborn.

  • SANTANA~~~''SOUL SACRIFICE''

  • I think I was 17...me, John, Diane, and who the hell knows who else, the Editor of "Xtra", all saw Santana at RI Auditorium, purple haze was "with" us....what a night, words could never do the energy justice....cars burning, lost, hits on floor, oh under my shoe? kiss it to god...I was on Johns shoulders dancing, how???? like magic, it was all magic....

  • 4 people are complete idiots for disliking this

  • 1950's < 1960's :)

  • that lion cover art looks sick !! def tattoo worthy

  • Santana is so awesome

  • Read my comments concerning Samba Pa Ti by Santana. This man is not capable of making bad music! Everything he does is good, very good or great! His artistry has nothing to do with time or an era or genre. There is great music in all eras. But like a few others, Carlos produces music that is real good and remains that way, 10, 20, 40..... years later.

  • Sabor Latino!!!

  • what a rythm

  • What scales?

  • That Is Right Men Count Me In XD

  • this song needs more LSD

  • Just bought this album from a thrift store for ONE DOLLAR

  • Santana'greats,^_^

  • this song is all abouth youth experimenting with their instruments, keeping along with each other trying to stay in beat, this kind of music only comw from the heart,

all these players where in it for heart, from santana the drumer the congos etc..

    these guys rocked back when.

too bad where not gonna get any closer than this, so enjoy..

love this track, makes me wanna be on acid...

  • @xxsolidsteelxx

    you couldn't be more right!!

  • anyone that remembers, old school, early seventies porn, has got to recall, that there was a lot of santana's music, used as overlay........did i say that.

  • @brainsareus ......... so are you going to post some examples, or leave us wondering?

  • @keith9849 i'm still laughing, good one. to answer your question, nope,do your own research. all i'll say is that "things" tended to be a little hairy. [in more ways than one].

  • I remember hearing this before Zodiac and liked it a lot!

  • Best rhythm section in rock and roll history?

  • oh yeah, oh yeah.. oh yeah.. oh yeah... awesome!! Love the drums on this!! one of the first songs that made me fall in love with drummers and percussionists!!

  • this is my first time listening to the album version,,i had always only heard the live woodstock version,,,both very nice, but i kinda dig the woodstock one a little more

  • If all the pent up jizz from the garbage of today's music didn't come out when you listened to this, than you sir are as we say "Fucked"

  • i bow down to what they did at woodstock

  • Soul Sacrifice is a luscious chamber orchestral suite, an awesome sonata for guitars, organ, and percussion, the Afro-Cuba-Brazilian progressive Rock the instrumental solo genre of Santana -- It was a sea change in music at the time, even in the context of Woodstock

  • ilove song

  • Great song, thanks for posting!

  • 100% real sexy music

  • what album is this

  • @RickybLSD Their first, Santana (named after the band) and IMO one of the best

  • I think this is another song that goes in the "If you don't like this then you don't have a soul" list.

  • just bought this on vinyl yesterday! fuckin sick!

  • It's just a pity guitar doesn't have the same bite as in the woodstock version.

  • Incredible!!! Definitely Made My Day!!!

  • watch the live performance at woodstock...(the 9 mins one )..while smelling the white rose :)....YOU WILL BE IN HEAVEN IT'S UNBELIEVABLE

  • His live version in the Gelredome was way better. But this one also rocks! Santana 4eva!

  • First Santana album i bought way back when.........

Still sounds great..........and what a cover!

  • Drugs may be bad, but at least they made producers see what a real music is, compared to today's ones xp

  • @Itsooz Some drugs are bad, some drugs are good, and somethings called "drugs" are not drugs but spiritual tools.

  • Love it so much, this ain't a song it's a TRIP!!!!!!!!

And the Woodstock version always sends shivers down my spine.

  • This is where the real rock is, if you want it!!!!!!!

  • the drummer is simply great

  • I got this song on the album Moonflower. This is excellent

  • legit!

  • This must have been so cool to hear live for the first time at the Fillmore West in 1969..these sounds were new to a rock and roll audience.

  • I saw Santana in 1973 when his whole band was intact with Chepito Areas on the drums and timbales. To this day I can relive the concert. The sight, the sound, the feeling was more than magical. It is hard to explain the feeling. But there is no other. That was a magical time, a memory that will never fade. This brings me back to the day when very talented persons graced us.

This brings a smile to my face as I remember.............. I truly am fortunate to have seen Santana live!

    art

  • @sonarlover Dude, can you please fuck off?

I listen to santana because I enjoy it,not to see some jealous asshole diss him just to raise his own ego.

  • I remember this song was played by Channel 2 in Panama for their jingle featured the 2 logo dancing to the beat.

  • it's so awesome each and every time you hear it.. what a great beat...

I mean, back in those days.. vinyl.... this was/is/ will always be one of the best albums of all time.. to me... lol... and as far as I can tell from alot of others as well... Santana... thank you.... you rock! Your band members throughout the years too ... such great talent..

  • best woodstock preformance

  • @friendo15 Oh, God, were they ever. The whole thing was such a mess (in a good way, but a mess) and they were professionals with a hot job to do, and did they ever deliver!

  • crazy drum solo!!

  • @friendo15

    AGREED!

  • Saw them at the Fillmore East in '70. One of the best shows i've ever been too.

  • @HusHund .. wow.. Finland.. I am so in love with those Apocolyptica guys....

  • @Starlitblond .. whoooa... wonder what I was doing here..

  • This song is just awesome, even the album cover is sweet

  • @FalcovsWolfvsFox did you notice all teh scary ass faces in the cover art? the lions cheeeks are faces, above his head is a face, below the lions head is legs, to the right theres numerous faces....wierd huh? (zoom in on teh pic to see what im talking about)

  • @metachozoite thats the reason why its so fucking awesome

  • @FalcovsWolfvsFox oha nd theres a hooded death face in the middle right hand side of the lions face (right next to the right (left if your looking for which side it actually is but from the computer its on the right )cheek....fucking CREEPY!!!!

  • That album cover is sick! This song absolutely amazing . . . drummer is a monster!

  • Santana , Weather Report and Head Hunters are the greatest fusion band ever.

  • Santana is why millions of people in the US were first exposed to salsa rhythms. Gracias Carlos!

  • They were basically just kids back then, what creativity in getting it all together!

  • @jgstargazer What a cool bunch of kids, who made this perfect stuff

  • awsome song ! thx for posting

  • one word to sum this up AMAZING!

  • btw, uklangang, thanks for posting this album.

  • my pleasure!

  • This is the version on Santana's 1st album. Original studio version, yes. Most people heard Santana initially, from Woodstock, either, in person, or the album. As such, those folks are inclined to equate Woodstock's recording as original. -- It was primarily this album that catapulted Santana into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. The committee stipulated 'the original' members of Santana induction into the Hall. Many --myself included, -- consider this album the Apex of late '60's recorded music.

  • is this the original version of the song?

    this the first album?

  • yes
