I particularly remember this level because of some copy protection bullcrap when i played it on my PC... i got an original copy and when i starrted that level, a giant robo pirate head popped up, blocked about 90% of the screen and said "CD MISSING" or somethin. I eventually got a patch for it on a 3.5" floppy disk so I could play it again... god was i afraid of not being able to keep playing it. I was a little kid at the time and liked this game A LOT. ;)
the N64 uses N64-midi versions of the songs, while the other versions use the actual tracks, which most likely contain a mix of high-quality midi samples and real instrumentation.
The sky was always cloudy... it was creepy, but really cool. Robot Pirates may be hokey, but at least they weren't Robot Ninja Pirate Ghost Zombie Monkeys, right? Anyway, you are right. My only problem with the game is that my other computer keeps having glitchy moments when I play, like the sound will jog, STOP COMPLETELY, the keyboard will stop working, my mouse will appear in the middle of the screen...
Oh well. Rayman 2 is too complex for Windows 7, lol.
Yeah youre right. I was thinking, well, that it was played in midi on the N64 and made with midi but played in mp3 on or something like that on the pc^^ But whatever^^
Yeah maybe. But theres a lot of orchestral schore and sometimes chorus in some of the songs, and I dont think you can do that in midi. Would be strange if some songs were midi in the pc version and some not. Also, the folder for the sounds in the game takes up 160 megs of data :P
Yeah but the N64 version doesnt have this good sound :(. The best thing would be a PSN/ XBLA release with all the content from rayman 2 revolution that I haven't experienced (only have the pc version).
Rayman 2 came out on pc and n64 the same day, so youre wrong there. The pc had the glorious interactive orchestrated soundtrack. They had to make some compromises in sound quality on the N64 version, and so they made it in midi instead.
I guess its your opinion what is superior, but I dont why you think the music in the n64 version suited the game more.
the soundtrack is really awesome. It's a pitty that most of the new games don't have such great soundtracks
