@ChipsShot I've seen video of the anwr and it looks pretty pristine to me. But ether way, it's not going to solve our problems. It will make an oil company rich, but there is only maybe 500k to 1mb/d production and the harsh climate makes it more complicated, more expensive and more likely to have accidents.

I don't support subsidies, especially for oil and the renewable sectors. I don't have a problem with foreign oil per se, but it's not good for the economy and as production fails to keep up with demand, there might me be national hoarding. Don't just make assumptions about people, just ask them what they think.

It's going to take decades or longer for the gulf of Mexico to recover from the blowout, which was totally preventable. Then there is all the damage to the shoreline, particularly the muddy parts. Your great, great, great grand children will be luck to see the gulf of Mexico back to normal.
