  • that individualiusm is freedom they don't realise if we just work together this can be our world and not a world belonging to someone else far away with lots of money and power that we have no choice but to submit to.

  • Because we feel like we have to do what we are told because this isn't our world, they're not our schools, our colleges, our workplaces, our shops and increasinlgly with houseprices getting higher and higher even our homes, everything is owned by someone else, someone far away - not someone close to use we can talk to and deal with human being to human being. So we feel trapped and unfree, but we can make this world ours, everyone's!

But because people have been tricked into thinking

  • omg yay found my favorite maoist film again :D

Been several years since I first watched this. Even though it's blatent propaganda in many ways it also inspired me in many ways.

When I saw the kids working on building their own college I thought "woah, that's interesting, why don't we do that, we feel so powerless because we are not allowed to create anything only go and do what we are told in places and institutions built by others, but we can build things as well as anyone else, why can't we!"

  • please recommend similar movies, preferably filmed during early cultural revolution.

  • One must look for strength in the writings of Mao and in films such as this during these weary times for the capitalist dynasty.

  • this is a great movie I just bought this old book called Steal This Book It Is a good book it was made by abbie hoffman

  • @snakeevabigboss You're supposed to steal it...

  • thanks for posting this, i'm going to try and find a real copy of it somewhere!

  • damn good movie it really gets me motavated

  • One of the great Movies resulted from cultural revolution. A great prctical solution for poor area higher level education system attemped. Done Xiao-ping ruined whole thing. Dong's cat theroy just for short term interests.

  • Funny someone typed this message under a movie about the GPCR. This is the kind of superstitious mystification that should be eradicated. Anyone who follows this message and reposts doesn't deserve to watch this video.

  • This movie is of the year 1958...time to "the great leap foward"

  • While it is of the year 1958 and the Great Leap Forward, the actual struggle depicted was of the Cultural Revolution in its content.

  • The film is of the years 1975-1976, during the GRCP, (the ore of the model works), but refers to a real struggle during 1958-1961
