For those that don't know, yes the men are wearing KILTS not skirts. It is a tradition not only in Scotland, but also Ireland, and many other places to wear the kilt when playing a bagpipe.
une magnifique mélodie et un chant poétique de grandeur, attention ce n'est absolument pas américain this sound are created by a scottish not by an american...
Indeed, the pipes and the voice don't work well together in this video, and even the pipes sound off. However, keep in mind that this in all likelyhood wasn't filmed by professional equipment, and that while it might sound horrid in this video, it could have been wonderful in reality.
please that high note was not tuned at all please work on tuning the drones before you play pitch was off but it stayed ok till the end its just the high notes ansd thoose are hard to to tune on any instrament especialy the pipes
Do you know this song was a result of a human being realising his wrong doings? Look it up and i'm certain you'll agree this is a special song with lots of meaning... we all make mistakes, can't change the past but can have a say in the future.... peace to all x
beautiful song and sung brilliantly but have could you mess this song up? Its like messing up the Star Spangled Banner if your an American or messing up God Save the Queen if you are English.
im an american my great grandparents on my moms side were born and raised near Hampshire, England they moved to the u.s when they retired they moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and there daughter (my grand mother) moved to Trenton, New Jersey and in 1954 my mom was born and in 1986 i was born both in Trenton, now i live in Florida its good i am proud to be part English and american, the american government is screwing up healthcare but that is a different issue, well cheerio my good fellow

Great voice, bad performance... As far as I'm aware in the Spanish and Portuguese bagpipe tradition, the "upper tubes" (don't know their name in english) must start at the same time as the "flute" (same thing, sorry), never before it. It's really unpleasent for the harmony of the music...
The piping is well put together and drones (upper tubes!) are meant to come in first in any traditon. Looks like members of differrent bands on a one off performance and all played excellent.
From a Scottish piper, PS-It can be difficult for bands to pull Amazing Grace off like this so hats off to you all.
LET ME SAY SHE IS THEE I MEAN THEE BEST SINGER IN THEE ENTIRE WORLD, BEST OF THEE BEST, NO ONE CAN DO BETTER THAN HER, I CRIED FOR A GOOD WHILE, I KEPT REPEATING HER PART OVER AND OVER AND OVER ENDLESSLY, SHE HAS TOO BE AN ANGEL OF GOD NO DOUBT, NO PERSON CAN SING THIS PERFECT, sorry for the caps, SHE CAN IS THEE SUPREME SINGER.
PERIOD:) God bless you, I wish I knew her name so i can address her properly
She's a great singer, and I love the bagpipes myself. I dont think the singing and the pipes work together very well in this particular piece though... it's like two separate bits rammed together rather than a coherent piece of music/singing.
You're right, but I think it was just some technical things that made it choppy. There were too many pipers to play balanced with the singer and the solo piper sounds like he had a mic, making him way too loud. Also, the pipes sounded too bright because they were sharp relative to the singer
the queen of england is just a figure she doesnt rul anything but england is our allies so they dont do anything bad so tea and crumpets and all respect
As you can hear, Nadine has an amazing voice. Ian hosts a summer workshop in P.V. with guest instructors from around the world. This event is the finale. You think it sounds good here, you should have heard it in person. Thanks for all the hard work, Ian, I hope some day David will come home to the pipes...
Thank you Scotland....You dont need England....God Bless William Wallace......England took over...and now they want u to like the Queen...dont think so..the British nust have forgot there history....Anja...Germany....

@Fluteperson01 The pipes were very much in tune. The acoustics and the poor camera were at fault for any problems there..

"Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me....
I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind, but now, I see.
T'was Grace that taught...
my heart to fear.
And Grace, my fears relieved.
How precious did that Grace appear...
the hour I first believed.

It seems that way because you have bad ears.

i think they are not in tune

well..... the High A can be unbalanced relative to the rest of the chanter, but trust me, Ian Whitelaw's drones are nearly always perfect.
