I understand, it is upsetting and you should be upset,those of us that know and are known of Christ should stand with Christ in these last days , not the building made with hands. Just last night I was reminded of John 4 (the women at the well)..His words to the point were "in spirit and in truth" sadly I stopped going to that type of fellowship years ago.But , I found my time better spent on the outside of it. Paul had much to say about the itching ear age we now live in. We are very close now.
No, brother the churches are fallen away. They are fallen away now. It's the falling away that Paul spoke about. Its the people in the churches and the leadership too. It's all of them. Nope, it not the love of money, its demons in the churches. The churches are full of demons and they are everyones' heart in the pews. Don't let them fool you!
amen Joe! Buddy you are among the few who actually "think"......the bigger portion of today's church is not at all in touch with reality. Somehow things have be turned into some kind of circus show, for example, deacons.....according to our Bible deacons are to be in a position to serve and have instead taken the role as Senators in many local churches???????

The result is a spirit, largely unnoticed, influencing "good leadership and congegants", to Protect "The Institution", a need to have others recognize and honor the Institution.
I feel your pain. It really is sad. The last "church" I belonged to wanted to start an after school program for at risk students and they were going to receive funds in order to do so. I was so excited at the thought of telling these precious babies all about Jesus....until the pastor told me that we were not going to be allowed to do so because it involved the state somehow. WHAT?? I couldn't believe my ears. My heart was broken...we also have fellowship in our home now. Thank you for sharing!
I think a lot of people feel the same way that you do about what's going on (or not going on) in the churches today. We left our church about 4 years ago. We tried to find another, went to many different ones and now we just worship at home. I have met a lot of people who have done the same. We trust in Jesus and HIs Word, pray, and follow HIm only.
