  • sorry to say that is 100% screwing you in the long run with the charge plug if they just put the charger in the car then its universal but if you get forced in to that then they would be the new gas comp. and its cheaper to just add 220 lines and have an internal dual phase charger

  • The handshake pilot signal is similar between the 1999 and 2009 SAE J1772 versions. In fact you can cut the plug off of a 30 amp Avcon charger, put the new J1772 plug on it and it will work. The target price for the connectors $50 for the car socket and $150 for the plug. But of course the wire has to meat special requirements as an EV charging cord in terms of insulation, flexibility and being able to be driven over several times.
