It's funny because in my country Cyprus I came accross this mushroom many times but I never collected it, noone collects it because we think it's poisonus! :) Instead the most wanted mushrooms here is lactarius deliciosus, russula delica and pleurotus eryngii which I think has the best taste!
you know even in the south of italy we like lactarious deliciosus "rositi" and pleurotus eryngii "cardoncelli" and russula chanoxanta, and personally I think that the best taste of all is pleurotus eryngii's..but I think that the emotion of finding out boletus pinicola or edulis is incomparable
