  • The 80s were the best. I find most modern junk just that, junk.

  • I'm a BLACK GUY,and I love this MUSIC,what are they calling it nowadays?

  • music from the heart not from the friggen street :)

  • move on man,lol!!

  • lol i heard this song from my history teacher, and liked it

  • Who can recall where they were when this song came out? I can.

  • definitely beats the likes of Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga imo

  • I'm not at all into Justin Bieber, and I'm a girl. I'm not at all a GIRLY GIRL, though. :)

  • This song tends to make me whistle a lot when I listen to it.

  • The 80's -- when actual phone booths existed, there was no texting and the music was simple great !

  • @tortoni900 I have to admit the 80's are better than now but they cant beat the 90's

  • @ShaithMaster Hi friend, yes, the 90's had very good music as well without a doubt but we must not forget that the 90's were a by-product of what happened during the 80's. Without the new sound produced during that decade, the music of the 90's would not have happened. I have to say that really good music (in my opinion) and creativity came to an end in 1999. Cheers!

  • @tortoni900 synth music was basically what the 80's was known for, and while it did contribute a lot, the 90's developed its own eclectic, yet memorable style with better sound quality. But I think a lot of it is nostalgia

  • I was born in 81 - God the music, the memories - I loved that decades. I want the 80's to come back! lol

  • i think the music from the 80 is the best

  • classic 80's!!! when people had to work hard to make good music!

  • great great great song! miss the 80 so much.. tks for posting it

  • This reminds me of The Breakfast Club for some reason.

  • Oh darn. I forgot.

  • a klassik 80's mtv hit....miss those days!!!!

  • This is surprisingly good.

  • I always thought this sounded like a Christmas song.

  • I wish there was always there to remind me to do my homework instead of listening to awesome 80's songs on youtube.

  • And I agree hip hop is very disappointing given it's subjects and the value music is to some of the musicians. I hate to say alot of modern musicians are in it for money and fame. The 80's were mere musicians with meaning, they made music to say something other than money and mates. I love and wish the true values of music come back

  • I loved the 80's I am born in '94 but I honestly believe music is starting to look up. It seems every 30 years we have a musical outbreak... The 20's, 50's, 80's and now I think we are coming up on our next. Every genre of music is starting to change into a different style. I think the wish to be in the 80's will be granted within the next 4 to 5 years in it's own way.

  • I need to have something always there to remind me to listen to this song every day.

  • Ah the good 'ol days b4 all the feminized drama that is modern US crap....

  • someone asked why i cryed when listening to "ordinary life" by

    duran duran...

  • @columnofsmoke me too ! maybe i am hopelessly stuck in the 80's

  • I WOULD RATE THIS 100/100, if there ever was such a thing. THIS IS A TOTALLY AWESOME SONG! :D One of my favorites. ^-^

  • ..............Aw the good ole days of Mtv!

  • what do they use to make the metal clanking sound after 0:55.

  • It also sounds like a synthesizer. Although if the question is what specific equipment, I have no idea.

  • You're probably right. It sounds really cool in this song.

  • What the heck is up with people and the thumbs down on perfectly positive comments?

  • Keyboards and Simmons synth drums are the instruments mainly in this song, they were a dominating sound in the 80's. The drums had hexagon shaped drum pads. I wish I could still by them, like that. Sadly they went out of production in the early 90's

  • It's Moe smacking Curly in the head with a sledgehammer.

  • sounds like either a xylophone or glockenspiel

  • I was actually remarking on it myself. I am guessing its a sample. Sounds a bit like something metal hitting glass maybe? And then the pitch of the sample is changed and reused throughout the song. It sounds great!

  • Adoro!!!!!!

  • i feel 16 years younger. Thanks!

  • I like the song, rated 5/5, and also pretty good quality tbh.

  • Drums are fantastic!!

It would be nice to hear his voice duet with Dionne Warwick's voice. Love her original, too.

    The whistles and bells...perfect.

  • lmao 1800's ? xD 1980's man, great stuff

  • bom demais!!!!!

  • I just love this song and the video isn't so bad either. I love the 80's music.

  • large phones! 1800's or something.

  • No phones in the 1800s lol :D

  • Haha, no mtv either.

  • i absolutely love this song!

  • :'( snif snif

  • I swear throughout the entire video he's just popping out of corners when she's getting swarmed like "LOL OWNED".

  • XD!!!!

  • Catchy as shit:)

  • This was the most unexpected version of a Burt Bacherach tune. I first heard this song in a Carpenters medley, then the Dionne Warwick version, that's what I grew up on. When I first heard THIS version, I hated what they did to the song. I thought they ruined it. I have come to love it over the years, and I think, now.. this is the best version.

  • What carpenters song? Hurting each other?

  • No. The song is called " Bacharach/David Medley " on the album " The Carpenters" . It is a medley of songs penned by Burt Bacharach and Hal David.

  • I totally understand. Not with this song but there are so many remakes of other songs that I thought were awful eventually they ended up to be my favorite versions as well. lol

  • It's such a good version that I did not realize until reading your comment that it wasn't the first.

  • @teddibearsworld I'm *almost* with you on this. I'm not quite ready to say that it's the best version, but like you I grew up with the Carpenters/Dionne versions and came to love this one over time. Ah, the '80s! This little dyke would go back in a heartbeat if only we could delete Reagan and the horror of AIDS...

  • even though i wasnt born in the 80's..i really think the music was pretty awesome!

  • @FrannyM101 It was awesome my friend. It made us happy. So basically, young people in those days were always in a good mood ! Even when we were heart-broken, there was a great song out there to make you feel better!

  • @FrannyM101 ..It was ..sorry i voted down by accident :X

  • one of the best 80s mtv new wave hits

  • This song brings back alot of memories. I think it's the best song from the 80's.

  • I wasn't even ALIVE during the 80's,

yet the music always seems to reach out to me! Its WAY better than now lol

  • Agreed.

    Music nowadays... *shudders*

  • poor guy i know exzactly how that feels . big suck ! all thought he is hot for a 80's guy

  • When I was three, I heard this song on the radio, and it inspired me to be a percussionist!

  • woodstock-this was our song -little ozark

  • I love the synth in the intro. It makes me feel so nostalgic about the decade that brought us electro.

  • wow, i was looking for this song for awhile & all i could hear in my head was the chorus of this song so i googled what was in my head of this song & i found it

  • i remember hearing this song on the bus going to school (junior high) when it came out in the 80's and i pictured this song on the radio in my old-school vw bug that i always wanted

  • This is a freat song but Like Every Breath you take by the Police this sounds like a Stalker song. NOt trying ot put the ssong down but think about it isn't sorta what he is saying he always watching.

  • i am told whenever you were the happiest in life then that music genre you will always have as a classic in your heart. toasts the 80's and smiles a secret jennifer smile.

  • Love all my fellow YTUBERS who agree this is one of the best songs from the 80's. Before I joined YT, I thought I was one of the only few who loved the 80's, but was I wrong! There are quite a legion of fans that miss the greatest decade EVER!

I sure miss the great memories as music nowadays is in a very sad state.

Cheers To Good Taste in Music!

  • You are completly correct! I am only 12 so I didnt get to actually live through the greatest decade of all time.I do agree music is quite pathetic now. Back in the 80's music had meaning but now music is just vulgar unoriginality. Thanks everyone who posts real music on youtube so people like me who didnt live through good music can go look it up instead of listen to this crap they call music today.

  • Hey manimoo! I couldn't agree with you more! Even though you are young, you have a great taste, appreciation and understanding of music. Many your age would be liking the Britney Spears of the World, hiphop, or rap stuff. Theres nothing wrong with that either as we live in a Free World and have different preferences. I really Give You kudos for your outstanding taste and choice of Music. Wish the young people of today understood the concept that you grasp. One Green Thumb Coming up! Cheers!

  • This is my ultimate 80's song, just personally speaking. To this day, I still do some air-drumming along with the song whenever I hear it...haha!!! Love it! The dance studio where I go for ballroom dancing has this in their list of swing-dancing songs. So cool.

  • Pat - this one is for you!

  • This video reminds me of a similar experience I use to have, exactly like the lyrics. She is married now and still "There is always something there to remind me." Whether her birthday, the digits of her birthday, her name or something else.

  • 1985?

  • 1983.

  • This song still sounds good today! Timeless!

  • This song definitely belongs on any 80s music top ten list.

the dj has spoken. Thanks and God bless

  • I dedicate this to Brandon, my bestest friend. Lost you one year ago today. This was our song.

In loving Memory Of Brandon Brent Shane

    Born: April 13, 1972

    Lost: May 23, 2008

    I love you!

    Heather

  • I like this song but then again I like almost everything from 80's. The 70's turned rock

into a formula of big hair and over the top

theatrics. These techno beats and nerdy rockers had to happen. Don't attack me I've been eating trail mix and drinking wine...I'm not responsible for what I'm saying.

  • trail mix just reeks of awesomeness!

  • One of the toppest of the top on my All time favorites!

  • DAMN i love this shit 2!!naked eyez was my favorite 80's band and i'm juz now knowin'!!!!!!!!

  • Ohh yes... there is always something there to remind me... true story!!!

  • promises promises is a decent song...but they dont have many lol

  • i told my lady of 5 years that this song will make me think of her forever! then she left me for her rich boss and took my 4 year old daughter... now id like to wrap this song around a grenade and shove it up her ass!!!

  • I always say, get to know someone thoroughly before you fall in love. Then you'll know whether they're gonna pull some crap like that.

Trouble is, people are capable of anything, so you just winding up being alone forever if you wait for someone who will never hurt you.

  • sorry to hear that! trust me...she's not happy...

  • 80's was an experimental era where all this midi synth equipment like synth drums etc became more useable by many musicians thus the sounds of the 80's. Before in the 70's there was some great music just different. Disco was more musician ship rock started to get a little stale by the end of the decade with exceptions like Van Halen Journey.

  • i miss my shrooms!!

  • This was that shit I wish they would this back

  • I'm and old 70's Rocker but this is a great 80's song. So true, Always something there to remind me. I appreciate the post, good job !
