The roach used as bait had been hit once by the pike when first hooked. It was the fact that 6 roach had been taken before landing that led us to move some of the pike further down stream. Also I dont like people preaching at me. I belive that things like this should be personal choice and the world would be a better place with less do gooders in it!!!

russell the guy has admitted he fished for pike when he wasn't allowed to, that's why i posted that comment about off season. regarding livebeaiting, each to their own. what i always say is if you have one fish on your line, one fish out of millions that are in your river, and a pike grabs that one fish, then it just shows how much chance fish have in that river. if the pike didn't eat my fish, then it would of just eat another anyway, that's the way it is, a fish eat fish world.

being a bit naughty at the time as pike fishing not allowed.(check Jacks nervous look as fish is lifted out) but there were so many pike in the swin could not catch a silver fish without it getting snatched by a pike. So decided to move some to a area further along the water.

No 80lb shock leader! Did not set out for pike so did not have the gear. We were getting roach grabbed by pike ever other cast, so decided to move a few down the bank. Only using a single hook as well!
