  • @Fr0mTheBlind THEY MAKE SENSE..READ THE LYRICS..ITS LIKE HOOCH, PPL THINK ITS GIBBERISH..HELL NO..

  • i like how everyone in the comments always talks shit to each other........back in the day the comments had little interesting facts about the track we were listening to..........instead of people talking shit to each other .....for example did you know that "Houdini Live: A History of Gluttony and Lust " is a live rendition of their 1993 Houdini album recorded live in an empty warehouse in Vernon, California.

There were no crowds or audience present for the recording....

    pimp right?

    peace

  • @NirvanaNerd364 The melvins are a fantastic band...

  • @AwesomeSauceLimited eh i mean if they were so good wouldnt they be more well known?i mean theyve been around since like 85 i think

  • @NirvanaNerd364 1983, and no, not at all, there are 10s of great bands i know that arent very well known at all, and i guarantee there are 100s more out there that i dont know of. I cant believe your calling other people 'Close Minded' when you think with the logic that Not popular= No Good.

  • @AwesomeSauceLimited haha actually i like alot of underground bands and i like alot of Melvins songs its just i dont think they're one of the best bands ever cuz they have a few shitty songs.and when iaid that guy was close minded cuz this mite be the only type of music he listens to anyway its nothing to get worked up about.and yeah i blew up a little haha

  • No, not everything has a category. Its the f-head hipsters, the type of inbred fetal matter that work as 'music journalists' for trendy junk like NME that attempt to box everything because if things arn't labelled their OCD complexes kick in convincing them their balls will drop off. Unfortunatey for these people they fail to realise they never grew balls in the first place so they're appeasing no one but themselves and their fellow cultists.

  • this song would make an awesome misheard lyrics vid o_O

  • The Melvins are a heavy band. When most people think of "heavy", they think of Metallica. Metallica is a great band, one of my favorites, but they aren't heavy. They are fast. Heavy music is music that will crush you under it's weight. Pantera's "I'm Broken" is another example. This is true heavy metal. It's like a huge 70-ton weight pushing you into down into the concrete below.

  • @uiruu

I like they way you put, I often thought of this as psychadelic doom music but the imagery of this crushing me, i think I've just become claustrophobic!

  • @uiruu pantera is aint heavy

Melvins is heavy because of that Heavy low bass sound

  • @yovioleatuzorramadre well, than what would "I'm Broken" be classified as? I see it as heavy, kind of sludgy. Not as sludgy as the Melvins of course, but whatever.

  • @uiruu pantera is just a descent metal band to my ears, I dont know what the fuck you mean with sludge, melvins have no genre but melvins.

  • @yovioleatuzorramadre

melvins have no genre but melvins.

    well said.

  • @yovioleatuzorramadre Melvins have a genre: Sludge metal. There you go. Everything has a genre, a category. Like it or not, it's a fact.

  • @uiruu get your facts straight before being an ignorant dumbass, Melvins is not a radio/mtv band, they wrote a page in music history, totally unclasificable rock. Sludge Metal? do you think we used to talk about that shitt term back in that gig of 1992? hell no sir. It was all about Melvins, Melvins is Melvins, they have pretty much every genre.

  • @yovioleatuzorramadre Yeah, yeah. You're starting to sound like a hipster. "Dude, it's not mainstream this, it's not mainstream that". Fuck you, man. Everything has some little nook or cranny it fits into. Everyone knows that. It might not fit your little ideals, but that's kind of how our human culture works.

  • @uiruu awesome post..i might reuse!

  • @uiruu Classification in music is made for people like you that are label and not music listeners.Melvins may or may not fit into a made up genre classification, but in your pre conceived with stereotypes little head you cant comprehend anything that you haven't put a label on. Poor you. And while you are trying to pile them into a category and a genre(because EVERYTHING has a genre in your reality), the rest of us are gonna rock out to their tunes.

  • @TheRaven1712 Wow. You couldn't come across as more of a hipster even if you tried.

  • @uiruu LOL

  • @uiruu you are a fucking bullshit man

  • @yovioleatuzorramadre What, you think I'm wrong? lol.

  • @TheRaven1712 hey i think they sell tampons in your area maybe you should get one

  • @murphyhurtme I think you should kiss my ass

  • @yovioleatuzorramadre i think you should eat some midols

  • ahhhhh....this filled the spot...KNEW I WAS MISSING SOMETHING

  • mmmmmmm fuzz

  • the riff is ripped from somewhere, hmmm

  • HOLY FUCKING SHIT WHAT AN UPLOAD !and I thought the Houdini version was awesome !

  • @kingxskippy how do you JUZZ

  • go ask any one walking down the street if they known who the melvins are, none of their shit is pop-y or mainstream, quit getting pissy because someone likes something different than you, you fuckin communists

  • Man, and I thought the album version was impressive. I wonder how many people had to scoop the crap out of their pants that night...

  • feel the buzz coming tru your brain

  • Melvins ARE DA SHIT !!!! My favorite band for 21 yrs !!!

  • this version absolutely slays the original.

  • @Ozma2112 You mean the original 7" version? That was always better than the album version.

  • @drewgordon no, i was talking about the album. I haven't heard this 7" version, gonna have to give it a listen.

  • @Ozma2112 v=b1rmSUhhuAI

  • yea ve seen them live

  • Fuxake, this Band is great! Why have I missed them for so long?

  • this song rocks. check out how we just smashed kid rock on the fuckin born free video

  • First time listening to the Melvins. Awesome!

  • listen to a history of bad men

  • these guys came before nirvana, also soundgarden is not a Cobain band

  • DESTROY!

  • TO: EVERYBODY

melvins are completely original and are definately NOT one of "cobain's bands". kurt was a fuckin loser, cry me a river if it hurts your feelings. tool didnt rip off the melvins, they were inspired by them. and damn near every band now days is inspired by tool (or you can at least hear there influence). so lets just leave it at everybody has to have a role model

  • @jamesrandle46and2 Forgive me for not wanting to wade through all the comments...have people seriously been saying this? How the fuck can you listen to Melvins and simultaneously be so disrespectful of them!?!? May said EVERYBODY give themselves a hardcore brain purging and forget that Mr. Cobain even existed, and then come back to this band.

  • @jamesrandle46and2 cobain may or may not have been a loser. However, he had very good taste in music. To me, anyone who loves the melvins, is that much less of a loser.

  • @jamesrandle46and2 Nobody said Melvins were one of Cobains bands you raging turd nugget

  • @jamesrandle46and2 blablabla. very nice to talk bad about dead people you even didnt know.. you have a great character. go piss on his gravestone if it makes you feel good. why do people who like one thing always have to hate other things? the only bad music is music without soul.

  • @jamesrandle46and2 thats crap..cobain loved n knew the melvins, cobains bands? what rubbish anyway n metallica ripped off the melvins for one n what about ministry, heaps of bands ripped off ministry n nobody has ripped off tool...(influence doesnt mean rip off unless say metallica who play some hard life FAKE ACT cobain was a legend, anyway it is about the track here, not to bagged out the likes of cobain or any who ACTUALLY worked their actual arses off to get their music out there, MELVINS!!

  • @jamesrandle46and2 Your a loser you fag fuck.

  • AAhhhhhhh.......Trevor Dunn...!!!

  • this is pre nirvana

  • @inm8dn FUCK nirvana, and FUCK grunge, this is real music

  • @yovioleatuzorramadre the dude from nirvana was a fan of melvins.. grunge is just something that a fashion magazine must had invented at those times...

  • fuck you this is cobains best band

  • @kasoulis2 lol, so melvins was a "cobain bands" just because heplayed in a few tracks and helped in the production of one? that one also was houdini one of theyr worst album hands down

  • @yovioleatuzorramadre how could you even say a melvins album is bad? all melvins albums are great, just because cobain helped produce it doesn't mean you have to degrade it like that. all you assholes think you know so fucking much, just listen to the music and chillout... fuck all your comments and fuck you, suck my cock.

  • @GaryFlores Dear Gary Flores, I never say that Houdini was a bad album JUST because cobain was in, you fucking idiot with comprehension problems. You are just another gay ass MTV poser that cant release how lame this album was in comparation with the other ones

  • @yovioleatuzorramadre im pretty sure everyone worships houdini and its reffered as their best album

  • Comment removed

  • @yovioleatuzorramadre hey hey hey hey.............dont be a cuntwagon

  • @dwowns Everyone worships houdini because is the most "easy listening" album and it have that "pop-y" sounds

  • @yovioleatuzorramadre i would have to disagree. I dont think this song for instance is poppy at all. i dont think they ever lost. but whatever floats your boat

  • @inm8dn

    you sir, are retarded.

  • @inm8dn so what? don't be an anal jerk about it..

  • this is pre nirvana

  • @inm8dn no it isnt. Night Goat was released as a single in 1992 methinks

  • WOW MELVINS DO DRONE SONGS TO AMAZING : O

  • nirvana is the pop version of this band. tool is the college ripoff of this band. white zombie is the whore ex-wife's attorney of this band. my band will be the blatent ripoff of this band and of the pixies....

  • @GJ3200 we need it, i can play any instrument if you need :)

  • @GJ3200 Fuck, I love the Pixies.

  • @medamorth fuck yeah dude :D

  • @medamorth Doolittle! ok den

  • @GJ3200 Tool is a totally different genre.

  • @ub3r2008 man, tool is a melvins ripoff (at least in Opiate and Undertow), and thats a fact.

  • @yovioleatuzorramadre Well, I can't argue with that because I haven't really listened to Melvins, Opiate, or Undertow.

  • @yovioleatuzorramadre listen to helmet and some of the bands they played with at the time like peach startling similarities

  • @yovioleatuzorramadre Maynard is also a rip off of David Yow,but fuckit

i still like Tool but i fucking love scratch acid and TJL

  • @RedHotChiliPrimus Maynard is amazing, I like Scratch Acid and all.. but man listening to Tool when you're stoned is awesome.

  • @RedHotChiliPrimus your name is god

  • Kurt Cobain and the Melvins were close friends. There is a lot of Melvins influence in his music

  • Nirvana couldn't do this in their wildest dreams....

  • A Senile Animal - an absolute must have for all !

    Possibly their best .

  • This is a good soundtrack for nerds getting melvins performed on them by me.

  • That bass has strings three times as long as the neck and notes are coming out by force of will alone. They're amazing live but bring earplugs. Was at a small in-store show once and I know I suffered hearing damage. These guys play LOUD. Ten feet away in a small echo-y room, was surprised my nose didn't start bleeding.

God love Melvins' and their ungodly glacial roar.

  • Isso é do caralho!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • EARGASM!

  • My ass just got kicked! THROUGH MY EARS!

  • She wants my way to feel

    And I cut my teeth

    It's more nine hundred miles

Oh, I got no more me

Well you can make my teeth grind

    You can make my underworld

IT's a bit done well now

    It's a big dark hell

You sit and watch out for your tails

  • goat morning

  • i jus looked at the first comment. HOW THE FUCK DID NICKELBACK COME UP!!!!!! i jus wanna know:> melvins are great BTW!

  • i wish i was a mirror or a giant finger nail =>

  • You're stupid.

  • i hate your other vidoes like that eyehategod stupid

    -Jesus is cool

  • Most hardcore band, EVER!

  • masters of sludge metal

  • the song was over 3mins ago and i still hear the distortion.

  • Great band

  • luv the fuzz distortion!

  • SSSSLLUUUDDDGGGEE

  • ground zero .... spartanburg south carolina ...i was in college at clemson .... saw morbid angel, melvins, slipknot , u.s. bombs , and coal chamber there (not at the same time though lol)

  • love this version of nightgoat

  • melvins dont give a fuck... saw them at ground zero in south carolina and they were talking mad shit to the audience

  • isn't ground zero further north? unless you mean year zero in which case its further east (or west, it's all relative). This song is fucking sweet though

  • @Sprawlify Like what? Sounds interesting...

  • @Paulie88 he wouldnt play any of the songs the audience wanted and he was insulting the audience

  • @Sprawlify Buzzo can be kinda a cock but who can blame him

  • this bass makes me cream myself. i blew an amp trying to make that fuzz distortion motherfucker

that proves how fucking pro kiwi are bro haha

  • many bands were inspired by the Melvins***

  • Godamn 1:52 this buildup is killing me!

  • @Scumbagfreak Between Melvins cornball behavior and Maynard's tantrums it should be quite a spectacle.

  • King Buzzo screams like a Hurricane...Fuck!!!

  • L33CH3RS-it sounds like heaven in song form

  • The Melvins are so authentic, I never get tired of hearing them. Even if it's been a while since I've heard them, I always go back to listening to them. Good job Melvins!

  • The most epic moment of my life was when I saw them play this practically 10 feet away from them in a little venue. I lost 30-40 percent of my hearing for 3 days after that night.

  • Fuck me man, that sounds like heaven.

  • 1:26

    did my speakers break?

  • That is the most fucking filthy distortion I've ever heard. What is it?

  • the melvins,the fucking melvins.

  • @rattlehead00 so true :P the distortion makes me murr

  • @rattlehead00 diarrhea

  • Eymeng as a musician i totally agree well commented MELVINs fuckin rock

  • droooooone!!!

  • Buzz is unappreciated. He has a good range and is quite the metal front man.

  • lol people talking about string size and tuning like they want to be clones of famous musicians

  • its called being a musician and trying to find your sound

  • which you get by tuning your guitar like [x dude] and buying the same effects pedals [y dude] has? i don't get it.

  • Sound is part of it, but so is the way you play, your techniques, music that has inspired you. alot of things go into what your sound will be.

maybe that kid was just wanting to jam along with the song or learn it hints hi,m trying to find out the tuning

  • great googily moogily this song kicks so much ass....

  • @wightflour A great song indeed and I commend you on your accurate use of "googily moogily" =D

  • I have used AADGBE for one of my songs, really good tuning i might have to use it more often cos its brutal sounding.

  • its got the same riffs from ministries "filth pig". fuckin awesome!

  • yeah similar. I love ministry's filth pig album, my alltime fav.

  • nullum magnum ingenium sine mixtura dementiae fuit

This song is insanity compressed into this dense cube of awesome...

  • VOTE KING BUZZO FOR YOUR NEW GOD

  • wow what a scream

  • like eric burdon

  • These guys inspired me to tune my guitar down to AADGBE.

    Try it!!

Just downtune the low E to the 12th fret on the A. It's fun. :)

  • serioulsy i never heard of that tahnx a lot dude that sick most of the time im drop d# ,d, c, c# and b hehe

  • Hehe, no prob, man. This way, you don't have to downtune the first 5 strings; you can play it as a drop tuning since the 5th and 6th strings are the same note; just at a different octave.

    Hooray for experimentation!!

  • But wouldnt you need a thick 6th string for this? Because Ive tried it, and its like playing a strand of spaghetti lol

  • Haha. Yeah, you'd probably need 10-13 gauge strings.

  • yea id say bare minimum 10 gauge but thats pushin it. i play with 11 gauge strings in drop B or C# and their faily loose. ive never dropped to A but i will wen i get new strings which will be 12s next =D

  • Cool tuning: regular dropped is second snare is 7th of first right? (first snare is lowest) Then 5, then 5 etc. Now: first one in B, then second 7th of first, then thirth 5th of second, then 4th snare in 7th of thirth snare, then 5th snare in 3th of the 4th snare, then last snare in 5th of 5th snare. This is really cool, just completely cover all snares with one finger and just slide a little. Also really cool in solo's

  • Thanks, dude.

  • Ive got another cool tuning for you, playing EADGBE, only all the strings tuned down by an octave.

  • octave tuning?

  • you can't compare this with nirvana.. this is a hole other dimension, yes nirvana took much inspiration from Melvins but so did tool and many other great bands. Melvins do have their own sound which you just can't "ripp off".

  • @Rokce

LOL "HOLE" other dimension... hole... get it... Courtney Love - Hole / Kurt Cobain - Nirvana... hahahaha....
