Thanks for sharing this video, The Invaders is a cult series for me and Roy Thinnes is a kind of legend because of that.
If he knew how many fans (female fans) he had when The Long, Hot Sumer was on in Eastern Europe. We still had Ben Quick T-shirts, that was not so common in that era ever here! After all, he seems a very kind person, wishing him the best! :)
I am 45 yrs old and still looking at Invaders on TCM and enjoying all the episodes even though I've seen them all as a teenager.Roy I loved you then and love you still.
Terrific to see how Roy was so well treated by a number of fans. Amazing what can happen when you decide to take a little risk; what he originally feared became one of the best experiences he has ever had. A mini tribute to him and his fine work. :-)
Happy to see you, Mr. Roy Thinnes. Can never stop enjoying your performance in the tv mini-series, The Long Hot Summer (1965). You and Clara Varner (Nancy Malone) never fail to thrill me! What a GREAT actor......so quick, unpredictable, refreshing........unforgettable..........Thanks!
Awesome show that scared the hell out of me when I was a kid (my other favorite of the era was Dark Shadows). What one needs to understand is at the time this was made there were massive UFO flaps in the United States and people were actually fearful and so this I think added an element to the fear of the show in "could this really be happening?" That era is one I wish I could go back to and relive, a time before the internet. We only got 2 TV channels and a half hour of news at six.
That was nice, and Roy looks great. He definitely takes care of himself. Boy I miss the Invaders. Never understand why it didn't continue on for years.
I'm found out about 'The Invaders' while watching 'The X-Files'.
This is great!
There are really nice fans out there, and its fantastic that, since actors cannot enjoy applause when the do TV, they have fans that do this[give a party in "His" honor].
I was invited to that party but even if I could have afforded to travel I wouldn't. I can imagine it must be rather creepy to have fans worshipping you.
I loved "The Invaders". It was one of my favorite shows when I was a kid and definitely one of the better sci fi shows. I watched it religiously every week. I was sorry to see it end!
great story .This is one of my all time favourite TV shows from the sixties.
it almost felt like the Invaders were real and who knows...........people talk about The Men in Black. These stories make me think of The Invaders. Great to have a little mysterious feeling about life. What if they are amongst us!
los invasores, una de mis series mas favoritas en la decada de los 60 hoy dia la veo por el canal T C M mis respetos para usted señor ROY THINNES y,un feliz cumpleaños y que siga cumpliendo muchos mas,
I'd like to see it come back on TV with as many as the original actors as possible on the premise that is 40 years plus later, picking up the story from there.
i loved this show growing up, and still do - it's fun to watch now 40 years later - so much of the trouble he gets in is because he can't find a pay phone to warn everyone! can't find a camera to shoot the evidence... times are so different
Probably my most feared and at the same time revered TV series of all time. I couldn't have enough of these shows. Thanks David for making a big difference in a kid's entertainment life.
@miramarensis It was a far better show that the abortive attempt to remake it. The Scott Bakula version lacked the air of tnese mystery and action of the original.
Brave man, going to such a party. It may have been harmless enough, but the fact that people can idolise another person to such an extent, is not normal.
I like him, and have the invader series, but i'm not going to build a shrine to the man. Some people are wierd, why don't they just leave him alone.
I want to be 8 again.

He's sort of a "good looking" version of James Woods. Wonder why we don't see him in film more often?

A major studio should bring this show back on tv.
Or Hollywood should do a blockbuster movie on The Invaders!.
It would be a huge Summer blockbuster movie.
Roy Thinnes should have a major part in the movie.
Come on Hollywood, lets get going on the production of, THE INVADERS: THE MOVIE.

I grew up watching The Invaders in Peru, South America. A very good show, and sometimes very scary too. He was great in "The Hindenburg" also.
