How high were ceilings before you installed the coffer? We have standard 8ft ceilings and I wonder if we can coffer ours and have it look as nice as yours. Hmm..

@paperkite03 the ceilings were 9' 3" before the project.

If you have an 8' ceiling, I'd probably limit my crown moulding to around 4"...and a "grid of about 5 1/2 inch....it'll still look good. Go for it, good luck !!
