The political message of this film is awesome. Not unique though, since the context was already sodden by films such as NETWORK 1976 or even before that A CLOCKWORK ORANGE in 1971. Not many people have the common sense to recognise themselves as a cynical audience watching stupid shows with senseless violence and pointless content. This film is talking about we all...even if you don't get it. This review was funny but too ignorant and naive.

The film, like others of the period (i.e. 'network' or 'westworld' etc) is meant as a campy, cautionary tale of the future - the future that america is analogously becoming. Think more along the lines of something like 'idiocracy'... the political message was the point...
