In germany over 75% of new cars have esc.
The biggest german car club (ADAC) sais around 25-35% of all heavy accidents can be affected positive or even saved with esc.
Due to these stats they say ESC stands on one step with Airbag and seat-belt.

Even with all the skill in the world, you can't brake individual wheels to bring your car back in line. Well, that is unless you have four brake pedals (one for each wheel).
