How to defeat Echidna quickly. If you have the Disk that goes around in a circle (see first few seconds of the above clip), wait for the black bugs to appear (be somewhat close to the boss), then immediately hit them all simultaneously. The bugs will then hit the Echidna's shield and deal heavy damage. I found this out by surprise. Hope this helps.

that a really stupid statement. Rygar was not the first hack n slash. and i'm willing to bet that the people in Santa Monica were inspired by other games like earlier beat em ups and stuff.
there is also a gladiator game where you have blades on your arms that was the first to do the quicktime instant kills like GOW used. (the gladiator game came out in 2001)
Yeah, when I saw his hair and outfit, I was like...cool...another Rygar, then I heard that they just changed his look. It'd be neat if they made a next-gen Rygar.
Tested it on legendary mode if you just use lvl 1 siren and when u run out use health for ion you can get atleast like 300 hits in and perma ice 0 damage. still under 1min kill. and very high combo
Just a Tip... The first boss If you just use siren you can get a 99max combo on him and kill him in under 1min. And 2nd one can be killed in 4 combos with sea disk.
i really thought that his guy was going to be way harder so i had a whole play thought out then i just did the whole siren thing combo and then killed him. but he was harder than other one the godly cronus not the dragonish cronus

i played rygar back w/ i was 6 ( in 1986) great game hard to play. looks equaly as hard still. glad you beat the game. tnx for the upload :)
