Vancouver Skytrain in Snow - Nov 06

How often does it snow in Vancouver on January? Is it covered with snow the whole month or it only snows once in a while?

Same technology as the Scarborough RT, so I'm not surprised that light snow would cause issues.

good thing the tracks r always hot so the skytrains can keep operating but wats rlly annoying when the skytrain has problems switching lines or stopping all of a sudden and all that

I lived in Vancouver for 2 years and was there during this time. I remember winter '06. I'm from back east so I'm used to snow; but Vancouver rain was so damn depressing that this snowy weather was actually really beautiful in the city! It looked pretty, especially when it's sunny on the snow :) It's never sunny when it rains lol. And maaaan it was funny watching people freak out over a foot of snow lol (when I'm used to like 10+ haha).

the reason i go to vancouver is so i don't have to see this in the wintertime

I must admit it looks different with snow because everytime I have gone it's either raining or sunny.

@Amebixfan Extremely rarely even during 2010 oyimpics we got like 30mins of snow one night thats all... I only remeber it like this in 2008

They slowed the trains down to 50km/h. Funny thing is we were still going faster than cars even on the freeway. :D
