Love John Hughes' films and recently bought a John Hughes box set. Watched this movie for the FIRST TIME last night and loved it! I'm only discovering John Hughes' movies now even though I was a teenager in the 80's! Maybe growing up in Ireland had something to do with this? Anyway, love the whole 80's look of the film and of course Molly is beautiful! In real life I was one of the nerds who fell in love with a beautiful girl like Molly! Wrote her a stupid love-letter. No chance after that!

I've seen this movie a gazillion time - my fav. of all time. If you want to see a blooper that I just picked up, go to the seen when the old folks are headed out to the wedding. The short (non-smoking) grandmother fakes getting into the Brown Buick, and actually bends down behind the car, as they start to back out. You can see her bending over through the cars windows. As Mike Baker sez: "classic".

When Sam says everyone has gone "Outer Limits" .....that was a science fiction TV show but the music they play in the movie with it was from the "The Twilight Zone".

Also if you watch the ending of the movie, Jakes license plate reads:21850 which is John Hughes birthday and the other car at the end on the plate it says V 58 which is for Vacation 58, a story he wrote which was his inspiration for the movie "Vacation".
