diesels smoke that much only when there isnt enough air to the amount of diesel being dumped in, so the black smoke is unburned diesel, once full boost is accheived it isnt sa dark, less unburned, but almost all high power diesels smoke cause to get the air flow needed to keep up with the pump is nearly immpossible, hope that helps anyone correct me if im wrong

the engine isnt burning all of its fuel when it smokes like that but to make real power they have to burn more fuel so thats why it does that, thats why stockers dont make as much black smoke too because they are supposed to be more fuel efficent but still make good power
