I must say I dont like Homm 5 its just too cartoon like gameplay and overall graphics. The 3D elements are awesome, with camera rotating etc. But Homm 3 has got really Homm like graphics. Homm 4 was ok, but homm 5 is just kind of too childish. Its made like for 12 year old. Plus they got too much like other games Wow and so on. Too many dwarves and elves and unrealistic armours, weapons, wrong proportions...

Just compare two towns from homm3 and homm5. Homm3 will look more realistic!

The big "dwarves" in this towns tier 6 section are supposed to be magically enhanced swarves, due to their size. I would rather call the GIANTS. Would make more sense too IMO.

Good song but I never realized in the time that I played HOMM V that the fortress didn't have lizardmen and that it had the dwarves from the Rampart in HOMM III in it. For shame Ubi Soft, for shame.

i very much liked the swamp fortress from HoMM III as well, but this isnt all that bad either. Dwarves being associated with fire and forge, making their fortress within the volcano. But i still would like to see my lizardmen and my gorgons back...=)

@nightcrow90 Yes, that's what I've been saying the whole time, as a Custom Map or Multiplayer you can play as both Fortress  (Dwarves) and Stronghold (Orcs) also it Includes additional upgrade for every unit in game (example: now Archer can be upgraded to Marksman or Crossbowman) only thing the Campaign is different (though I think It also has levels with Dwarves) so definitely buy "Tribes of East" (or just download it via Torrent)

i think i read about the origin of the dwarves from being created by a god named Aule who wants to teach his craft and stuff to them, but had an argument with iluvatar so he took up a hammer to smite his creation, hence they shrunk in size. its in the silmarillion or LOTR i forgot.

and this place looks like ironforge in wow.

I think you meant Hammers of Fate, and no, you can also play them in Tribes of the East (which is also the game most HoMM 5 fans play, mostly because it's the last of the trilogy).

@futavadumnezo i could say i want mark of the necromancer(unlimited energy),irresistible magic(hella strong spells),luck of the warlock(doubles dmg from spells if u are lucky),dark magic(mind control),lvl 4 or 5 destruction spells,black dragons,abyss hydras and... what else can pwn absolute protection and defensive players(using dwarves)?ah of course,some basic altars of the elements and ELEMENTAL FURY.

too over the top. this is a flaw of homm 5 without a doubt.

homm 3 had fortress filled with mostly reptilian and swamp creatures. the idea behind it was that the race itself had a strong defensive way, however, THIS IS OVERDOING IT.. it's way too overblown.

they should have just gone forward and create last unit on this castle Big Steel-Iron Chief Golem -_- it just doesn't sound right..

Every faction is super powered that makes a balance and MIGHT kicks ass equally as stronghold only faction that lost its power are necromancers which by the way in 3rd part have skeleton specialized hero which is fucking iLL so game is balanced in Heroes 5 !!!

i always thought of dwarves as manly, mainly cuz of the huge beards and the fact they drink beer for breakfast, i miss the hill dwarves though, theyre much more original, and have an enchanted feel to them.
