  • [wolf whistle]

  • Check out at 0:56, Darcel tripped a little and recovers quickly enough so that we don't notice. It's the small flaws like that that let you know how well rehearsed these had to be every week.

  • Loved this show :)

  • girls are so yummy

  • Check out the U.K version Pans people.

  • Why didn't the countdown match up with Billboard at the time. I wanted to ask this question for a long time as Michael jackson was on the top 5 on Billboard almost constantly at this time.

I always wanted to be a Solid Gold dancer-great show, I feel old.

  • They would have to had paid Billboard magazine royalties to use their official charts on the show, so they (quoting the end of the show) compiled the rankings of hit songs after reviewing standard industry sources. Translation: Our chart won't be accurate and don't care because the dancers are hot. I remember watching this show on Saturday nights for the dancers, then tune into Casey Kasem and American Top 40 on Sundays for the real charts.

  • LOL can't believe they're on live to dance!

  • my favorite thing to do when i was little was make fun of them and now that im older my favorite thing to do is make fun of them!! LOLLOL

  • @LonesomeTroubadour Beyonce's fans have this thing with Beyonce. They feel people from 80 years ago some how was inflenced by Beyounce?

  • @nes11727 If you mean the way the girl at 1:00 was moving that is how Tina Turner moves.

  • @OldSoul1979 thanks.

  • @OldSoul1979 The 2 male black dancers were Cooley 1983 - 1986 and Darryl Wright 1986-1988.

  • When is this show coming to dvd?

  • @rbspider I wish they would put these on DVD.!

  • Debra is my favorite

  • @bkgtubster the brunette at 4:43 is Jamilah Lucas (from seasons 5 - 8) she was temp replacement in only a handful of shows for Janeen waaaaay back in Season 3.. And the brunette in the closing dance is Lucinda Dickey, she replaced Paula Beyers for a couple of episodes until Gayle Crofoot took over and stayed through the end of season 5.

  • @lbCharmed1 ...Who is the other black chick, outside of Darcel, dancing in the group with Pam, Debbie, Kahea and Gayle at 4:42-.5:45..I do not remember her being a perm. dancer?

  • @OldSoul1979 It's Jamilah Lucas. She was a 'fill-in' dancer during season 3 for about 3 or 4 episodes and then returned in season 5 and went on to finish the shows run.

  • LOL..."the latest hit by Oxo..." the only song by Oxo. I haven't heard it since it was on the radio 27 years ago. IIRC Oxo was really the 70's band Foxy that had the quasi-pornographic song "Get Off," rebranded for the 80's.

  • This is my ish FOR REAL... makes my dream of being a Solid Gold dancer come alive again... and the tunes?! What the f$#k?! Oxo, Little River Band, Bowie, Hall and Oates?! How stoked would I have been to be Darcel Wynne in toast tights giggin' to "Let's Dance" when it had just come out?! I'm gagging!

  • Loved solid gold. Love the memories of the eighties. never get tired of hearing these songs.

  • David Bowie...Red Shoes...with then unknown Stevie Ray Vaughan's guitar solo...Hall and Oates...One on One...cool.

  • This is the best "Best of SG" I've seen on YouTube so far. Good job!
