  • You will need to check with your lawyers to see if the type of work you are doing involves the FDCPA and what state laws it involves, etc. The idea of this video is to give some general information but every situation is different and it depends on what state you are in, the type of debt being collected, etc.

    Glad the video prompted some questions -- we can't find the right answer without asking the right questions, right? :)

  • oh my goodness. I am just leaving where I worked and I was curious looking this up because I do third party collections with the Insurance corps including Medicare etc. BUT we were put on a project to help the department that handles our patients and we NEVER EVER told them it is an attempt to collect, we were instructed to just leave a message to call and say its NOT a collection call. But I was thinking to myself, is that right? Sounds like its not. Glad I saw this video
