@gameboycolor47 I played Metroid Other M myself and it didn't suck at all, granted it had some serious plotholes but that did not in anyway make it a bad game, the controls were easy, the bossbattles were challenging unlike some other metroid games, and on hard mode its quite possibly the most challenging Metroid game ever, I am a true Metroid fan I played ever Metroid game excluding Metroid 2 Return of Samus and I can honestly say that this game is nowhere near as bad as you say it is.

One is a Metroid fan because they love the games, NOT the other way around. I've played all the Metroid games several times, and to say that gamers who were critical of Other M are not true fans is childish and shallow logic. While not a bad game on its own, it ranks low in comparison to its predecessors due to several reasons, the most egregious being linear gameplay (which can be good when done right!) and a disappointing portrayal of Samus, especially her English voice actress.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the game. If someone asked me how it was, I would recommend they play it. But if I were asked to list the top 3 Metroid games, Other M would not be included for the aforementioned reasons.

Metroid: Other M sucked, I didn't mind the third person POV, but I honestly hate the single-remote control and the fact that they gave Samus a speaking role in this game.

Started playing this game last weekend and it is an interesting take on the franchise. I like the style, but the controls feel awkward. Walking around is a limited kind off 3D envoriment with jus the D-pad is not the best way of playing. They should've just make it completely 2D like Donkey Kong Country returns.The visor-mode feel clumsy as well as you can't walk, looking around goes at a really slow pace and the lack of any scanning feels unnatural after 3 Primes. But it's Metroid,so I'll enjoy
@TheAqui11 Agreed Other M was a great game and those references that connect with Metroid Fusion. It was good. My only complaint which is authentic is limited exploration and no new powers or suits. Still they should DEFINITELY keep this style going.

@Zolazora32 Most avid Metroid fans will tell you it sucks because it supposedly is a betrayal of character in the way it presents Samus. In truth, Nintendo has never revealed what her personality is really like, so it's actually quite consistent, though regardless one thing I will agree with the fanboys on is that it was still a bad portrayal nonetheless and I would have done it differently. Getting beyond Samus and her terrible voice actress however, the game is otherwise very awesome.
other m gives samus some personality and flaws, but it doesn't go THAT overboard. adam says that samus is the true hero. it would suck if samus leaned on every single person, but the only person she had that view towards was adam, which, as a human being, is realistic

@kanagawa85 BUY THIS GAME, it is one of the best amd most underrated games, Metroid or otherwise, ever. People are complaining about the story and Samus' vulnerability. If you pause and think for a minute, vulnerable Samus makes sense coming from her tragic and violent background. And if you dont care about that, the action gameplay and visuals of Other M are brilliant. Think before you hate--METROID OTHER M FOREVER!
i really wish nintendo would make a platformer metroid for the wii. that would be awesome. i suck at 3D games like this (or super mario galaxy*), platformers are where i shine.
i own super mario galaxy, and found it to be insanely difficult. i am a huge mario fan, particularly SMW, but i would not reccomend SMG.
honestly my only gripe with this game is the art design and the textures. the Prime trilogy was much more pleasing to the eye. i'm not a graphics whore but i've been spoiled by Retro. damnit Nintendo.
I so wish this came out on the 360. I also wished they didn't keep showing Samus' face and make her talk and stuff. Like they're trying to make her less icon, and more human. We all know she's a girl, but part of her being so bad ass was the fact that it wasn't always being a point of. She wasn't a person, she was just Samus. I remember in Metroid Prime, when just getting a glimpse of her face was a treat reserved for the people who did everything right.

The biggest problem with the wii is only one good game comes out a year. Seriously, if I had a wii, I would enjoy it, but I can't justify buying it for four awesome games, no matter how epic they are.

anyone else want the orginal mertroid prime gameplay to come back? I feel like the farther down the line the series goes the farther off from the orginal concept the game got. Thr graphics got worse as the games went on, the weapons became less creative, and the creatures lost that sort of atisitc touch like in the first one. I beat metroid prime corruption the first time, and a week later i sold my wii.
These graphics are amazing! Very slick. And this game looks awesome. Too bad its only availble on Wii. I normally hate games that involve using a robot to shoot things but this actually looks kinda cool, with gameplay variation and platforming. Nothing like this is availble on ps3 or 360. The robo suite colours look terrible tho, but I guess there classics

@kanagawa85 BUY THIS GAME, it is one of the best amd most underrated games, Metroid or otherwise, ever. People are complaining about the story and Samus' vulnerability. If you pause and think for a minute, vulnerable Samus makes sense coming from her tragic and violent background. And if you dont care about that, the action gameplay and visuals of Other M are brilliant. Think before you hate--METROID OTHER M FOREVER!

i really wish nintendo would make a platformer metroid for the wii. that would be awesome. i suck at 3D games like this (or super mario galaxy*), platformers are where i shine.
i own super mario galaxy, and found it to be insanely difficult. i am a huge mario fan, particularly SMW, but i would not reccomend SMG.

honestly my only gripe with this game is the art design and the textures. the Prime trilogy was much more pleasing to the eye. i'm not a graphics whore but i've been spoiled by Retro. damnit Nintendo.

I so wish this came out on the 360. I also wished they didn't keep showing Samus' face and make her talk and stuff. Like they're trying to make her less icon, and more human. We all know she's a girl, but part of her being so bad ass was the fact that it wasn't always being a point of. She wasn't a person, she was just Samus. I remember in Metroid Prime, when just getting a glimpse of her face was a treat reserved for the people who did everything right.

I fully understand Samus a Nintendo icon, and them making a game for the 360 would be like them making a Mario game for the 360. Being someone who loved the hell out of the Gamecube and the Gamecube's Metroids, though, I'm just bummed that I can't play this new installment, because I opted for a 360 instead. The biggest problem with the wii is only one good game comes out a year. Seriously, if I had a wii, I would enjoy it, but I can't justify buying it for four awesome games, no matter how epic they are.
Those games would include Twilight princess, metroid prime corruption, super mario galaxies, and Metroid: other M.

@krazykillerhippo Really? I've played several Xbox 360s and PS3s and they seem the same except that you're supporting America and you have better games on the Xbox. And I'm not in for shooters just for the gameplay. The reason why I like Halo so much is because of the story. If a game just threw you in a random map with random weapons, I would hate it because there's no point. It's all just opinion, but I think if someone calls Halo gay, they obviously don't know the story. Just opinion though.

anyone else want the orginal mertroid prime gameplay to come back? I feel like the farther down the line the series goes the farther off from the orginal concept the game got. Thr graphics got worse as the games went on, the weapons became less creative, and the creatures lost that sort of atisitc touch like in the first one. I beat metroid prime corruption the first time, and a week later i sold my wii.

These graphics are amazing! Very slick. And this game looks awesome. Too bad its only availble on Wii. I normally hate games that involve using a robot to shoot things but this actually looks kinda cool, with gameplay variation and platforming. Nothing like this is availble on ps3 or 360. The robo suite colours look terrible tho, but I guess there classics
