  • жалко перевода или хотя бы субтитров на английском нету)))

  • wow amazing

  • I remember watching this lesson when I started fingerstyle and it seemed soooo hard. Now the video seems much easier since I've practiced. I've learned sooo much from Justin.

  • does anybody know the shape of Justin's guitar looks slightly smaller than you standard grand auditorium maybe a folk body or something

  • cool ring

  • would it help if you already played banjo?

  • Justin, please make some tutorials on strumming without a pick

  • Thank you for the lessons Justin, the clarity is like watching DVD. Meantime have a nice holiday, be safe dude and remember to buy something nice for mamma

  • really great lessons, really getting into these folk videos.

  • This is the first time i saw a video without dislikes....:)

    Don't touch that i know you're going to click that button to get a top comment.....

  • I bought the baja telecaster too, Justin! best neck ever.

  • if you're american and watching this he flipped us off at 7:24 haha (i know it's not an obscene gesture in the UK so no i'm not just an ignorant git)

  • @orimathath Actually it is obscene in the UK.

  • @topperdoggle my bad when i looked it up the site said the v symbol was used in the UK oh well

  • I think that I, M, & A are used on sheet/written music instead of 1, 2, & 3 to note the picking fingers so that 1, 2, & 3 are not confused with beat counts. (But, I don't know for sure--just guessing.)

    Great lesson -- I'm looking forward to this module.

    Thank you, Justin!

  • Great as usual!

    And nice tip about the anchor finger. Didn't know that.

  • Awesome lesson Justin! Can't wait to get this module under my belt :)

    And for laughs 7:24 ... :D

  • I always love Justin's lessons! He really understands that guitar is such a personal instrument. Everyone plays just a little different. Very good intro to fingerpicking!

  • Hey Justin, could you do Bleecker Street? That would be awesome!

  • will u explain keys

  • In classical music all the words are italian,or latin and they have a meaning.

    Allegro= happy

    ad libitum= as you please

  • P= Pollice

    I= Indice

    M= Medio

    A=Anulare

  • @goodboy65 PIMA is the SPANISH guitar description for right hand technique, not Latin or Italian. It is very common in Flamenco notation, and it is a very old system.

    P = PULGAR (Thumb)

    I = INDICE (Index Finger)

    M = MEDIA (Middle Finger)

    A = ANULAR (Ring Finger)

  • @herbiesnerd

    maybe on PIMA i'm wrong, but in classical music notation, all expression indication are in italian.

    Whether a music piece has a mathematical time indication or not, in classical music it is customary to describe the tempo of a piece by one or more words. Most of these words are Italian, because many of the most important composers of the 17th century were Italian, and this period was when tempo indications were first used extensively.

    From wikipedia:

    Musical_vocabulary_for_tempo

  • @goodboy65 Wow thanks for the lesson. That depth of music knowledge is way beyond my scope of study. I only know about PIMA from studying an old spanish tutorial system years ago. I just learned about C = Chiquita (little finger) today also. PIMA was so different and unique I always remembered it, but rarely ever see it. I only know a couple of simple version Spanish guitar tunes, Malaquena and another tune I don't know the name of. If you want to see a master, watch Charro play Malaquena!

  • @herbiesnerd In other hand italian and spanish are similar, in many cases, so PIMA acronym can fit perfectly to italian, same initials of hand fingers.

    Ciao.

    P.S.

    Do you Remeber Led Zeppelin album "CODA" is an italian word used in music sheet.

    Also pianoforte instrument (piano) was invented by an italian...it literally means Piano (slow, low volume) Forte (strong, loud) the older harpsicord had no dynamics instead of piano.

  • @herbiesnerd

    Before the metronome, words were the only way to describe the tempo of a composition. Yet after the metronome's invention, these words continued to be used, often additionally indicating the mood of the piece, thus blurring the traditional distinction between tempo and mood indicators. For example, presto and allegro both indicate a speedy execution (presto being faster), but allegro also connotes joy (from its original meaning in Italian).

  • @herbiesnerd Thanks for that, very interesting. I've also seen PIMAC. Why is pinky finger C, please?

  • @MsCrazyCuckoo

    C = Chiquita (Little Finger - (rarely used)) I had to look it up. 30 years ago I had a spanish guitar tutorial with cool finger style picking charts and that is where I learned about PIMA. I never knew about the C for Chiquita. I took classical guitar in college and the teacher was a virtuoso player and he used his pinky, but he did not teach that to us. To this day I keep my PIMA nails trimmed for finger picking but my pinky I clip it off completely.

  • @herbiesnerd Thanks, I've wondered about that for ages! :-)

  • nice ring duude, i want one

  • The pinky if for the stinky.

  • The guitar is a Maton 808, Michael Fix model (a great Aussie guitarist).

  • @JustinSandercoe Justin, what is that you play from 4:10 to 4:20?

    Great lessons by the way, you are one of the best on here, if not the best :-)

  • @JohnRoss10 Thought it was one of his Maton's but it isn't looking at the headstock. Justin?

  • @Abs9106 i think he's used it on his last couple of vids... my guess is a maton EBG808C Artist. It's been on my GAS list for a while. Confirmation? (Confirmaton?)

  • Cheers dude, just pre-ordered the DVD. Only 17 euro's or 15 pound for this entire series. How cheap will you get it, and it's a nice way to support Justin's website. Everyone who reads this, please visit Justin's website and buy the DVD or donate if you can. The DVD even has three extra lessons about 28 minutes each!

  • I like the way it sounds when I play with a pick, fast flat picking. But thats a lot harder than fingerplay.

  • The beginning remided me of Elliott Smith's Angeles. You should check it out, Justin. He's my all time favorite. Rip, sadly. It would be great if you could make a lesson on that song. It's quite a tough fingerstyle piece. Thank you for this lesson. You are the best teacher :)
