Well if you really believed that then youd move to the back but your inards say "NO I WANT CLOSER." Its human nature XD! I like to enjoy them near me but the closer the better I say. Im an active concert goer and im the type of person to say "If they cant handle the pit they need out." I got asthma to but I push through it.
But thats how pits are and they will never change in any concert you go to (well...maybe gospel it changes...never been to one lol) so what you should do is take inhlaers

I have a fracture on my shoulder blade and asthma and I got through it perfectly (my height helps though so I might have an advantage).
Its all about being prepared for the worse <3 (I take my ID to every concert in case I get into a crazy ass mosh pit and get shipped to the hospital lol).
But yeah take a lil' baggy with your inhaler. I bet the pushing wasnt all that triggered your asthma. It gets really hot in small clubs too.
