Many fighting games copied Capcom; in fact, ALL of them did. It was the first true fighting game that perfected the system. And Capcom copied and still does copy SNK and other things as well. To call somebody an moron because they like something is just stupid.

Im excited for KoF XIII but about everybody was like "KoF XII IS GONNA SMASH BLAZBLUE & SF4" and KoF XII was utter shit and made elitists like you look like an idiot... yeah I went there.

Seriously though I hope KoF XIII does well but I doubt SNK will really invest in making a good netcode since KoF is about as popular as the Yakuza games.

Mayby the game will kick ass. I watched a interview and he said there was going to be more modes, more online modes, more characters more stages. If all of those things he said is true then this game mayby will sell more than kofxii.

'95 through '98 was better then anything Capcom was putting out at the time (Yes, SF3 didn't hit it's stride until Third Strike and '98 WAS better then Alpha 3). They just seemed to lose it after '99.

There was the kind of embarrasing thing of Capcom using their characters in CapcomvsSNK and making them BETTER, I'll give you that.

If the game is going to come out this year then they're probably going to reuse the hand drawn sprites that the previous games used. If they wanted to make a better KOF game they should just make the realease date near the end of this year and focus on adding some more characters. Also SNK promised in a interview of KOF XII that the next KOF game will conclude the Tales of Ash saga. I don't think it would end well considering the early release date.

i dont know about all of this "blazblue is best fighter" junk people are coming here about. Blazblue is purely for the anime lover, making it a niche game. it isnt even serious.

KOF series was the best in the 90s. especially 98. And playing kof, and street fighter for a long time, I can honestly say that KOF has the highest learning curve, and is more rewarding to play.

that does not mean its better. SF is more popular. and with KOF slipping up last year, I label myself a skeptic for now.

KOF XII didn't suck, you guys just expected too much out of it, obviously the company wanted to do something new and they did. And they only had less than a year to finish the game, so as far as I'm concerned, that is not a lot of time, it takes teams of 16 people to draw 1 character, so for you gamers that think that KOF XII, it didn't, there were flaws, but seeing as how America grew up playing Street Fighter and not caring about KOF (Which is popular in Japan), it's understandable.

(Continuing from previous) But at the same time, it's biased. I wouldn't have high expectations from XIII, because they re-drew everything from scratch. Now gameplay wise, I've seen too many people just rage quit, this is a new adaption, and this requires more strategy than SFIV.

Bout time somebody got it right, Holy Snacky Cakes. The production value of xii was outstanding, yeah the netcode sucked, no Mai, and no last boss, but the presentation was great. Several years of the same sprite style, constant games, restructioning from bankruptcy and I say add on. SNKP should release an arcade comp of about 24 to 30 games on one disc to requip for money issues & fan service.

My only major gripe w KOF xii is change Athena back, she was too anime, yuck.

I bought KOF12 on XBox 360 and was severely disappointed. There was no boss. No secret characters. The online multiplayer lagged alot! What happened to Rugal or Geese? SNK was at its best when the SNK vs Capcom games were out. I hope they can redeam themselves.

KOF XII didn't suck, it was just unfinished. KOF XIII we be a finished KOF XII complete with more characters, more stages, more moves, more win animations, a story and a boss! SNK had to release to release XII when it did cost the development costs were so high with no incoming profit. Development for this new game probably staretd just straight afterwards and this new game is essentialy an update of XII. Most of the work is already done, they dont need much more time to finish it.

It's obvious what they need to do to improve the abomination that was XII:

-Deep storyline for arcade mode

-Bring back K, Oswald, Mai, Yamazaki etc

-Give Iori his flames back

-Put in a cheap Boss like usual

-Alot More stages

-Good netcode

-Better fighting system

Bam done. Then SNK will be respected again.

Iori doesn't need his flames back. I like "precision" Iori. It took him way to long to get some major changes. People like Kyo have so many versions. Also, I hope Ash gets another new move because he stole the cursed flames from Iori. The move he got from Chizuru was Germinal.

I was thinking the same thing. Why in the FUCK are they releasing this game a few months after the episode 12? Especially if it failed to the 9th degree? No story! I was expecting the story to continue from part 11, since the left us on a gotdamn cliffhanger! Nowadays, VG companies focus less on the content/stories and more on visuals. All I can say is "SNK, y'all better not screw up, cause you guys have a SHITLOAD of fans to impress with this hairbrained move.

Word on the street is that the PS3 disc for KOF XII has data for characters that did not make the final game (e.g. Mai Shiranui). My guess is that they are going to include the characters that they cut.

As for competing against Super Street Fighter IV...it is pretty much a done deal. They don't have a chance. Any hype they could of had, they destroyed with KOF XII.
