Probably because they don't know what the gem is there for, so they assume it's hell's blessing on the doll, but let's face it, humans are drawn to the unknown; enough to create a completely stupid rumor. Yet I feel so fascinated by the thing. Only a few characters from sega make single game appearances, but, nonetheless, the rumor is complete nonsense.
