The point of the gun is to shoot it into the air to make a very loud noise. This will scare and confuse a lion for a moment long enough to escape a bad situation. Nowadays in his own park... Kevin carries no weapons aside from pepper spray.

Nowadays at his own park, Kingdom of the White Lion, all he carries is pepper spray. Also, if for some reason he would have needed to use it he would have shot it into the air to make a loud noise allowing for a few moments of escape time due to the lion's confusion.

A documentary maker actually contacted him first, so he created that. Then, his employer wanted to make a movie, which will be released soon.

Kevin works with animals that were born captive. He works with them from cubs all the way to adulthood and that is how a bond is formed. People like the late Irwin and Treadwell worked with wild animals that they had NO relationship with.

@zest8 @zest8 he wont shoot none to dead..hes an animal lover!! it's just some way to administrate sedatives if any of the lions get agressive and try to hurt him, wich is not likely to happen, due to his amazing and unique relationship with them. You should also know that most of this animals are born in captivity, they belong to a rescue program, wich he belongs to..As they are wild cats anyway, it's never sure that they wont attack, and he's aware of that.

@princessximi Thanks -lets hope you are right. How do you know the gun carries sedatives & not live bullets? Sedatives take time to administer. While waiting for the sedatives to take effect, he would be torn to shreds if the lion attacks. Animals born in captivity or resuce programs are still wild animals. Remember the chimp which torn off a lady's face in the US? He was raised as a baby and was very much part of the family. I choose to believe the gun carries live bullets and not sedatives.
