Aside from the fact that the official music videos for /all/ of the four mains have entirely new footage, it was probably because the only-released-in-Japan "extras" tapes, while mostly being remixed versions of old footage, wouldn't have sold as well without some new stuff. Also, a /lot/ of it is really, REALLY symbolic, and would probably have a hard time fitting in a more literal storyline.
Those clips are from the official music video for "Koori no NAIFU wo Daite", one of Kurama's image songs. I got the footage originally from Rosewhip.net, but that site's vanished off the face of the earth, so I've got no idea where you could find it now.
Question: They keep saying that Kurama stops becoming Youko, but I remember Kurama saying that he will never abandon anyone when they asked him if he'll stop transforming to Youko. So what's the real story?
Um, now, I saw that part, and I think I had to watch it twice, but my personal interpretation of it is that I think what Kurama meant when he said that he was not "abandoning" the Youko in that he is accepting his Youko self as being part of his past, and that the Youko is still partially reflected in who he is today, but the past is still the past, and he will never again return to being the Youko.
And I'm gonna kill that run-on sentence right there. But I hope I answered your question. <_<;;
Definately Shuichi.Yoko scares me a little... But why does everyone call him Youko? Its Yo=misticle and ko=fox. Put them together and you get Yoko Kurama or Mistical-fox Kurama^_^
Actually, it IS "You" that denotes mystical/supernaturalness. It's just that most companies translating stuff for an english-speaking audience tend to truncate the "u" out of names, titles, hard-to-translate concepts, etc., so that people who only know English will have a better chance of pronouncing it closer to the original sound (since "ou" in english tends to mean the sound "u" does in Japanese).
And "Yoko" is actually a woman's name in Japanese, roughly translating (IIRC) to "good girl"...
Oh! That's a scene from the movie. It sells under "Yu Yu Hakusho: Poltergeist Report" or something like that. Great movie, although since it was done by a different company than Funimation, the dub voices were all different (and, IMO, crappy), and the subbing left much to be desired. I'd buy it anyway, though, because Kuronue is teh smex.
No kidding!! The voices were messed up in the movie! Yusuke and Hiei sounded too heroic for their characters, and Kuwabara was completely well... the most messed up voice. I noticed that in John Burgmeier's voice, he has a bit of softness and is very deep in Kurama's voice, wheras David Hayater doesn't have the softness. He has a more light voice. If you don't believe me then re-watch the movie and episodes were Kurama talks.
At least the Japanese voices are the same as the series, but what's worse than the dubding is the DUBTITLING -- they slapped the script for the dub into the original's subtitles instead of actually giving a straight translation, and the only difference I saw is that Hiei gets to say "bastard" 7 more times. And they broke convention by translating "Jagan" into English instead of leaving it as is, leaving Japanese-unsavvy folks confused ("What's an 'evil eye', and since when does Hiei have one?").
Very true. Thank gosh they kept the orginal actors. (Yayz! Megumi Ogata! I forget the other names) And yes, I'm noticed that too the english dialogue (sp?) has a few of the same lines as the original japanese. Also, if you notcied Kurama's voice in the beginning of the YYH series and then when you look at the Dark Tournament, Kurama's voice is light at first and then it grows deeper and deeper throughout the series.
I agree with both of you Kramer!! Has anyone ever seen a scene where Youko is a perv? Sorry but in all fanfics he is always a perv...worse than Yusuke by far! But does that air though. *blink* I have the Kurama Fan Club jacket it is very pretty! *cling* ^_^
Great video!! This was the first time I heard Three Days Grace and I fell in love with their music!
The same way lite cant exist w/o darkness, kind of. Agreed, that both kutamas should be kept obviusly, but also I agree with the artist that Youko gets nowhere near enough camera time.
paahahaha he looks like inuyasha

So does that mean he won't ever transform into Youko or that he won't be the bandit that Youko used to be in the past?
DivinePearl 3 years ago
Pretty much yeah. I don't think Kurama is willing to abandon anyone for that matter. He's just going to stay in his human form and capitivity is all.

It's hard to decide, but I'll have to say regular kurama cause he's shown more than yoko and is a great character.
