@talkingelement it sure is a Hyundai motor.. And Look into the Beta2 engine.. all you need is low comp pistons and bigger injectors and you can push 300whp from Jettus turbo kit.. And that's reliable driving for years.. What people also don't know is EVERY SINGLE hyundai engine is Mitsu based.. To prove it.. Look up the lat 90's Elantras with the 4g63's and the Sonata with the 4g63 2.4ltr.. Most hyundai's are overlooked as sleepers.. And this is proof.

If im not mistaken this is "La Pulga" in her early stages. It belonged to our friend Misito, one of the best in drag racing PR had to offer. He died in an accidsent at Salinas Speedway in a Buick. Sadly he burnt to death. This car did 10.XX seconds with the stock 1.5 liter Accent engine...then he swapped it with a 1.8 Elantra engine and hit the 9 seconds. It isn't tubbed and uses a stock gearbox(welded diff). If Hyundai was so bad, how is it so fast? 1. This was an Accent, but in some countries and regions the first Generation Accent produced from 1995-1999 (X3) was still called Excel until 2000 EVEN THOUGH IT WAS REALLY AN ACCENT. It would have been better if madrx2 would call this car an Accent instead of an Excel. Most of the world knows this car as an Accent so please call it as such.
