A bow is a classic weapon, especially seeing as you're in the UK. Another cheap, surprisingly effective weapon is the slingshot (catapult?). One with a steel frame with surgical rubber tubing can launch steel ball bearings or marbles with surprising impact (I've cracked redwood boards with my wrist-rocket), and it's not terribly hard to learn to be accurate. the story I read was that the boat was detained for suspicion of smuggling. Apparently the captain decided to make a run for it after a few days and the russian coast guard opened fire with hundreds of rounds and then sat and laughed for 24 hours until half of the crew was drown.

I agree a home garden will be essential for anyone who wants to put food on their table. I just hope everyone buys HEIRLOOM SEEDS /NON HYBRID. The seeds we purchase (HYBRID SEEDS) at Home Depot / Lowes will only yield one crop, the seeds from your first crop are sterile and will not bear vegetables.

A bow is a classic weapon, especially seeing as you're in the UK. Another cheap, surprisingly effective weapon is the slingshot (catapult?). One with a steel frame with surgical rubber tubing can launch steel ball bearings or marbles with surprising impact (I've cracked redwood boards with my wrist-rocket), and it's not terribly hard to learn to be accurate. It's also more concealable than a bow, and you can use rocks in a pinch. =^[.]^=

This is why silver is thought to be a dark horse right now. It's essentially obtained through the mining of copper, nickel and zinc and since these mining operations are coming to a standstill, silver is thought to go through the roof (it's used for industry, in the health fields and is also a pm). There is less silver above ground than there is gold.
