It's a shame Jennifer was never a big success in her own country, but don't forget the amazing success she had in Europe, especially Germany. This song was, and I believe still is, (maybe eclipsed by that Whitney drivel) the biggest ever selling single by a female artist in the UK, and rightly so. I think it's the juxtaposition of her semi-operatic voice and 80's synths that work so well, and why Celine's weak American MOR version was a disaster.

her tone is amazing. that deep rich sound she has does the lyrics more justice than the high pitch overly feminine sound celine dion has. she's an amazing singer but i prefer this version right from the beginning. much respect here
