@vnisanian2001 Frank Conway also appeared as a contestant on the 1987, Bob Stewart-produced pilot called Money In The Blank. The pilot was hosted by GO's Kevin O'Connell, and featured Pyramid alumni, Teresa Ganzel and Nathan Cook as celebrity partners. Raarrow has it up on his YouTube channel... :-)
That was Anne Bloom from HBO's '80s news spoof comedy, Not Necessarily The News. :-) I'm actually friends with her on Facebook! We talk about the Pyramid a lot! :-)
That's because Bill Cullen had polio, which made it hard for him to walk. So instead of the celebrities doing their usual walk-ons, they were introduced from their seats. :-)
I thought I did see him once on $100K Pyramid. He kind of flubbed in giving clues in the winner's circle for "Things you Pick." But then, he said, "your nose" to the contestant after Dick Clark came to meet with them... and the contestant did say "things you pick."
This episode looks like it's going to be one for the ages. The first lady of game shows vs. the dean of game shows; who will be the victor. Both of them have very solid gameplay as well as their partners, which would explain why they both came back to play another game. Bill Cullen's final apperence on television after a spot on Super Password my have been a bit low key since he was retired from hosting at this point; he is still sharp. Betty is still sharp as of today on MDP.
I saw one of his last appearances (as a 9-year-old boy), and this one made me really sad. I didn't know he was dying, a few years afterwards, because usually when a host retires, gets to do everything, but Bill wasn't invincible, he was a smoker for years, hence, his lung cancer eventually claimed his life. I missed him, and I would've liked to see him do more, but he had to end his almost 35 yr. career in hosting game shows, 24, the ones he'd hosted --- to date.
One question, though. Frank kind of had some connections with Dick Clark in a way (his days on American Bandstand), and they still let him appear on the show? :)
Do not forget that Bill Cullen hosted the original The Price Is Right. I know it's mentioned that he hosted game shows, but I think we should address that.
Looks like a tracking issue... so jumpy.. LOL.. but I don't care!! Thank you so much for uploading this gem!!

Thanks so much for airing this one. I have not seen it since it's original airing. It sounded like the announcer said "The $25,000 Period", LOL!

The intro's different. The celebrity guests' introduction took place from their seats instead of them coming out from the Pyramid.

If you saw Bill Cullen on Password Plus, Bill was already at the Podium because of Polio.
