They thought that the Beatles would be able to do a comeback but Paul had died so they needed to have a Paul. Remember the Paul look alike contest about 1966? Well I think that William or Billy that won was also a musician but he was right handed but had to learn how to play left handed. That explains why he had a hard time playing with out looking at his fret board. He liked being famous so he never told anyone and soon he bacame Paul.

The point is that Paul McCartney - and all the Beatles - retired around 1964/65 and they needed replacements. This guy is Phil Ackrill, a musician who had surgery to look more like Paul. Another Paul is Faul. Paul never died. That was a hoax.

@ddboris because there was such a rave about about the beatles back in their early stages that a few secret society's were scared about what would happen if the real Paul died. they thought the worst n said there COULD be mass suicide because of the death of someones favorite idol.. theres a really intriguing documentary about all of this called PAUL MCCARTNEY REALLY IS DEAD.. when i saw it i couldnt believe it but everything is true and in plain sight 4 all of us to see.

@ddboris because back in the 60 people would have killed themselves and the beatles would have to go through alot cause the real pauls death. music isn't what it was back in the days, music was new and the beatles were considered gods. If you havent seen it yet, watch (Paul Mccartney really is dead, its a documentry that George harrison himself made in 2001 but it got released 2005. i suggest you watch it, you can watch it on nerflix.

@ddboris if it is true, there would have been a mass suicide. It's not like bands nowadays. have you ever heard stories or watched a concert on tv? People literally climbed on them while they were singing, or threw underwear or their hotel keys at them. peaple fainted just being in the same room. Paul was like the most beloved of them all. not saying it is true, but if it is that would be the reason why. They wouldn't want to be responsible for hundreds of people killing themselves.

@ddboris the big question is... how is it that paul, who taught john lennon much of what he knew of how to play guitar, was such an infantile musician after 66? John wanted paul in the band before even knowing him on the sole merrit of paul's amazing musical efficacy. He was able to play guitar, bass, drums and probably many other instruments better than anyone else in the band... then after 66, he was reduced to playing one-note baselines and beginners' chords...
