@playdoh626...my son is in fast co. right now..he likes it alot ..its a 5yr contract 2yrs security forces but ur an 0311 and u go to SOI and then BSG school..near end of grad from BSG they decide how many needed for prp (but u have to have security clearance for prp if not then its Fast) ...top training tho in fast and its good for LE future...good luck!
@467076 Don't know if you guys have left for boot yet or not, but I am also a poolee. I am trying to get an infantry or SF contract. This is info I learned off of Marine forums and my recruiter. If you have a SF contract you will go to SOI like infantry Marines do and get a 03xx mos. Probably 0311. After that you go to security forces training. You spend 2 years in some security forces unit then you go to an infantry unit for the rest of the contract.
I see a lot of non MCSFCo's in the comments, so for reference, DM is Designated Marksman on the RTT platoon. If it's still around, RTT is the only job worth setting your sights on there, and yes, it's a BITCH to get on. It's a grueling competition/ slay fest for weeks to weed out all but the most determined/ worthy just to be selected to go to either DM or shooter (CQB) school. Out of about 15 only me and one other went to DM school. So don't go to MCSF just to go RTT. btw, recruiters dont know

Its PRP I believe not PCP, it pretty much just regular Security Forces battalion, it can give you the option for screening for other parts of Security Forces like presidential duty I believe. But besides that its pretty much just regular Security Forces. Probably be guarding nukes for two years then head to the fleet as a Grunt.

Its not hard to make it into security forces training wise its not hard, but if you didn't have a Security Forces contract I think the only way you can get in is by switching you UZ contract with someone that has a UV there, see if anyone wants to switch because UV's go to SOI as well

Security Forces is a UV five year 0300 contract, you will spend half you time in SF and half in the Fleet, you will go to Boot Camp, SOI than BSG school, at BSG you will get a Dreams list of places you want to be stationed weather that be a F.A.S.T company or Naval Base. At the end of school they give you your duty station which is sometimes what you wanted but not always if your Record is clean you might be sent to PRP command its pretty much luck of the draw, so shut the fuck up little kid

From what I recall...if you go into MCSF, you are what they called a "glorified grunt". You stand guard duty. 4 hours on, 8 hours off for periods of either 48 or 72 hours. Do guard duty for two weeks and then a training week. I was on a Naval Weapons Station in Charleston, SC. We guarded anything nuclear.2 yrs in Security Force Battalion and then get assigned out to the fleet, to a normal working infantry unit.Good luck guys, its a great experience.
I don't even remember. It's been about 12 years. All I know is that is what my Liason told me at M.E.P.S. He explained what the "line score" was but damned if I remember. It's a total of a bunch of different scores, A.S.V.A.B. and other stuff. I qualified so I didn't really pay attention to the meaning.

there were good times and hard times, but id do it all over again if given the chance; and wouldn't do anything different. it was a learning and growing experiance. definately the best group of marines i'll ever have the pleasure of working with. Bangor marines are locked on.
to say that we get bored would be an understatement. training happens.... thats about all i can say about that. there are periods of time where we train constantly, then theres times we just sit around all day. after PT of course.

yea squids started being integrated about 3 years or so ago. for every plt there is a division of sailors. we work together. they call us "combat teams". whatever... there gonna be taking over totally in the next couple years. only marines left will be RTT.
say what you want...but I got tons more trigger time with every weapons system at MCSF battalion then I did in a grunt battalion in the fleet. All I did in the fleet was go to the field.

there were good times and hard times, but id do it all over again if given the chance; and wouldn't do anything different. it was a learning and growing experiance. definately the best group of marines i'll ever have the pleasure of working with. Bangor marines are locked on.

to say that we get bored would be an understatement. training happens.... thats about all i can say about that. there are periods of time where we train constantly, then theres times we just sit around all day. after PT of course.

yea squids started being integrated about 3 years or so ago. for every plt there is a division of sailors. we work together. they call us "combat teams". whatever... there gonna be taking over totally in the next couple years. only marines left will be RTT.

i served at mcsfco bangor 88-90.was platoon of the year 88.i remember i was there when a pfc commited suicide in i believe tower 32.i remeber the torture chamber the leatherneck lounge good times the c.o was lt.col irish eagan from n.j he was a mad dog loved to hang with the marines treated us awesome.he was hardcore.
