Here is the part of the setlist from RockPalasts homepage. AL JARREAU

location: Grugahalle Essen
musicians:
Al Jarreau (voc) Alex Acuna (dr) Bobby Lyle (key) Malando Gassama (perc) George Hawkins (b) Charles Johnson (g) James Studer (synth) Michael Paulo (sax,fl) Michael Steward (tr)// David Sanborn (sax, voc) James Studer (key) Charles Drayton (dr) Tom Barney (b) Mike Stern (g)
I have a totally blasted VHS of this with the whole concert including Al Jarreau Sheile E and something more. Anyone knows a good way of restoring it?
Mike Stern is soooo cool here and Marcus is bouncing off the strings.
On bass it's Tom Barney. See "Chicago Song" posted by me. And on keybords it's Al Jarreau's keyboard player Jim Studer (see "Black and Blues", also posted by me).
@JETDAB No slouch is right. This is some hoppin' genius! David use to play in my town of woodstock, new york in a little club, the joyous lake, where he lived as well. Early to late70's. Heard this SHIT frequently!!! Lucky me. The place was BOUNCING when David and the band played. This 'll flash in front of my eyes when I die! Tasty crankin' chatter, from the best-est. "David talks" definatley has much to say.
and very beautiful!!!

Anybody who lived in Toronto during the 80's remembers this as the theme song to 104.5 CHUM-FM's "Sunday Night Funnies" program.

You can tell it´s Mike Stern on guitar, because of his patented flangerlike sound wich he pursued during the 80´s and early 90´s.
