  • I met Tom Barney when he was a student at Crane School of Music in Potsdam NY. A long, long time ago. He was bad boy even back then.

  • great video. too bad about the audio mix!

  • Tom Barney is the bassist here.

  • I'm always amazed at how many foreign musicians really went to Rockpalast...

  • This man can really blow his horn

  • Can Anyone post (Casino lights_hideaway 1982) w-marcus Miller On Bass

Casino lights :Al jearau- Randy crawford-The yellow jackets

  • Anybody who lived in Toronto during the 80's remembers this as the theme song to 104.5 CHUM-FM's "Sunday Night Funnies" program.

  • Lovely upbeat soothing sound.

  • I have a totally blasted VHS of this with the whole concert including Al Jarreau Sheile E and something more. Anyone knows a good way of restoring it?

Mike Stern is soooo cool here and Marcus is bouncing off the strings.

  • That's not Marcus, but Tom Barney.

    Great indeed!

  • I love this version! Holy shit it's good.

Any way to get this in better quality? I mean, is there a dvd available or something

  • Credit where credit is due. That is Tom Barney on Bass.

  • yeah really awesome how he plays it, its really nice :D

  • lol Mike Stern in Young Years, very nice, i like hes Style.

  • the young dean brown on guitar;-)

  • You can tell it´s Mike Stern on guitar, because of his patented flangerlike sound wich he pursued during the 80´s and early 90´s.

  • nice!

  • Tom Barney perhaps on bass.

  • the bass player is absolutely WICKED

  • Please tag the video with the players if you can...

    Charley Drayton -drums

    Mike Stern - Guitar

    Alex Acuna - percussion

not sure on the bass ....thanks awesome video. It aint Hiram Bullock on the guitar but Mike is no slouch!!

  • Thanks!

On bass it's Tom Barney. See "Chicago Song" posted by me. And on keybords it's Al Jarreau's keyboard player Jim Studer (see "Black and Blues", also posted by me).

Do agree for Mike, he's awsome!

    Greetings from Sofia, Bulgaria.

    Dedo Andro

  • @JETDAB It's Mr. Barney I think.

  • @JETDAB No slouch is right. This is some hoppin' genius! David use to play in my town of woodstock, new york in a little club, the joyous lake, where he lived as well. Early to late70's. Heard this SHIT frequently!!! Lucky me. The place was BOUNCING when David and the band played. This 'll flash in front of my eyes when I die! Tasty crankin' chatter, from the best-est. "David talks" definatley has much to say.

  • Thanks for uploading this video - it used to be available on YouTube but someone removed it.
