Xcom should be up there among the top games, Jagged alliance needs a much, much, much better score, UFO series isn't as good but it belongs in the list, no console games should be above the glorified Fallout series, or silent storm for that matter (there's a mod to fix the only retarded things about the game, the giant mechas and laser guns)

Final Fantasy Tactics I Absolutely must agree is probably by far one of the best tactical based RPG RTS games Ever Made.. but even so its no longer produced nor can you find it anywhere and if you can, consider yourself extremely lucky! Also you put pics from two completely different games, Fire Emblem: The Path of Radiance {For The Gamecube}(The Prequel} And Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn {For The Wii}(The Sequel) It would Be Sorta Nice if you fixed this error, Please don't take this the wrong way?

It's simple, really. Civilizations are not "Turn Based TACTICS". Those are "Turn Based STRATEGY" games. Tactics != Strategy.

In a nutshell, tactics is what infantry squad squad leaders use when they are in a battlefield. Strategy is something what commanders higher up in the chain of command use.

Tactics = short term plan

Strategy = long term plan

There's also Agarest War and Agarest War Zero. Lengthy games, somewhat challenging, and given a bit of a bad rep - they actually play pretty well, anyone agree?

honestly has no one ever heard of the game Baten Katos Origions? that game was the shit, it had the most unique gameplay i've ever seen with beautiful music and lovely graphics. It was the best turned based game i've ever played that involved strategy and skill. Fuck final fantasy, there was no skill, it was just grinding your party untill they can defeat a boss.

How is Silent Storm series? Looks pretty good to me. Same goes for Hammer and Sickle. I love most of the same Tactics games as you do. (Front Mission series, FFTactics, Vandal Hearts series etc).

X-com was very good. Try it if you haven't. Laser Squad was also very good (ancient history). Try Rebelstar for the Game Boy as well-- all those 3 by same creators.

Front Mission? Cool, but if I'm going to play a mech game, it's got to be an action game. That's just me though. Thanks for the list. Shining Force was the best though in my opinion. Sega, can we get another turn based Shining Force game?
