  • This was the first video i watched about this kettle,I bought one yesterday. This kettle is worth the money. very light and boils water fast on my alcohol stove. Thanks for the vids Chris!

  • Good vid Chris. Keep up the good work, and good attitude about the "fault finders" and arm chair warriors. Take care. Some of my favorite M.H meals, the Chile, Lasagna with meat sause, and beef stew. Good hot chow. Now I gotta try that one. :o)

  • Been lookin myself at that kettle, how good does it pack in your bag, noisy ?

  • @Rowjr560 It fits nice in the pack but yes it is a little noisy if empty. I guess if you fill it with coffee filter bags or something like that to take up space it might not be so noisy. but other than that I love how the kettle cooks.

  • nice vids thanks for sharing just ran across u i love the outdoors and bush crafting myself glad i bumped into will subscribe and check out all your vids!!! great work keep it up!!!!!

  • Thanks for gitten out and doin it. Keep up the great vids.

  • Thank you!

  • Did you say troxane to fuel the fire? Also, was that stand a modern tin can or an old tin can? Did you burn the inner coating off the can?Was that a flint and striker? Sorry, I don't have a video camera, we had to return my Christmas present b/c I lost my job....I'll land on my feet...Very Cool Patch in the beginning!!! Can you do something on catfish bait ? Yeah, I know, I'm a city slicker....Hey, but I try....

  • Trioxanne is the fuel I used. It was a canteen cup stove stand. Yes it was a flint and knife.

  • Good stuff Chris, keep them videos coming. Love your Pathfinder life style.

  • Thanks for the video. keep em coming.

  • If the stand was lower It would bee more efficient, Try sticking it into the ground,

  • Good vid. Keep up the good work.

  • Thank you!

  • Good video. Its important to get out and do it so you can "Own your Skills". Its true we dont usually get snow like that here in the south. I had close to a foot and me and my son went out and practiced building a fire and I took in the woods to a small pine thicket and showed him about the natural shelter it provided. I thank you for posting the videos I enjoy them. BTW dont worry about the trolls they are like flies there either pestering some one or eating crap.

  • Yea I dont worry about them.. I just hate send people that post great vids stop posting because of them.

  • Great video Chris. I agree with you about the trolls, I have had a few.

  • Thank you!

  • Yes Sir! Awesome words Chris! I know exactly what you mean, I agreed with every word you said! 10 stars!

That snow was awesome wasn't it!

  • Thank you brother! Yes it was awesome.. Glad we got a little to play in this year.

  • Great video Chris. Dont feed the trolls and they go away. I just started posting videos on YT and its not as easy as you guys make it look. Keep making the great videos and I'l see you at the 2010 Gathering....

  • Looking forward to seeing you there! Yea most of the time they run thats for sure.

  • I have the same gloves. I love them. Hard workers.

  • LOL Chris when you started the video I thought that brown spot was a big foot print.

  • sound is low 4 me running xp and firefox

  • Well said Chris!

  • Great Video Chris, I have yet to try any of the Mountain House meals, I will have to grab some. I don't know about washing it down with Hot Chocolate though - haha

  • Great stuff man! Keep up the good work!

  • Something to remember Chris, it was a goup of armchair elites that designed the Titanic, and another group that designed the little seal on the space shuttle. interesting aint it....lol I have a couple that post to my channel like clockwork, and I either debunk what they say, or just ignore them .....Great review...I had that last weekend, along with the beef stroganoff for dinner....love MHM! except for the bacon and eggs...GROSS

  • Thanks Ken.. Yea I ignore the trolls.. I hate seeing my friends that stop posting vids because of them.

  • I just got the 6 inches to 12 inches last night too. I live in Eastern NC. I tested my tent vs tarp setup and found the tarp, like the increased amounts of Esbit tabs needed can cause a normal experience and make it a real survival problem. The tent is so superior in the winter than a tarp. No wonder no one climbs Everest with a tarp. Hope to hear from you again. Awesome video.

  • Thank you!

  • From NC, Southeastern USA. Great presentation on the esbit tabs being used in the cold climate. It is important to know that certain items work poorly in cold weather and could pose or create an ordinary task into a survival task. The amount of esbit tabs needed to heat in the summer would be less. Thanks for the information, I will make a changes now that I know what you showed me. PS. Mountain House meals are great!

  • Thank you very much!

  • whats the shelf life on that mountain house stuff?

  • up to 25 years unopend...1 week afterwards, for best flavor. I have ordered a couple of the 25 serving cans for my storage,

  • Great Video Chris!

  • Thank you very much!

  • GOOD VIDEO, CHRIS.

  • Thank you very much!

  • I hearya Chris, I need to get out into the field with my gear and put it through its paces again. First time I tried Mountain House stuff I thought I had sucked on a deer salt lick. It took about two hours for the salt taste to subside. Hope your was good. Keep the good stuff coming brother.

    5/5

  • you are very welcome I certainly enjoy it!

  • Looks like good times bro! I've been wondering about that kettle, thank you for doing a review on it.

  • my pleasure!

  • nice job

  • FIRST, By the way Its Haul-lite and also your supposed to use a more efficient stove and not crappy trioxane that has reduced efficiency in the cold, Try a canister next time.

  • lol. like i said.. it was close enough pronunciation and it doesnt really matter and i like trioxxanne.. I use alcohol stoves some as well..

  • Actually, Chris was right, it's Halulite, google it.

Also, every fuel has reduced efficency in the cold, but butane canister stoves are especially poor in below freezing temps because butane doesnt vaporize below freezing, and there is loss of all pressure needed to make the stove run.

  • I just checked GSI's site and it is HALULITE.. see we both got it wrong. .lol

  • My goodness words look allot more different when you just take a glance.

  • cool. thanx for the vid.
