  • Why are u a big fan of the 10mm? Just curious

  • I love that you point out every round fired hits somewhere. People think about that in public but don't think about it in their homes as much. If you live in a typical home in the city most handgun rounds have the potential to get inside your neighbors house. It depends on how many walls, materials etc. Many homes nowadays just have drywall, insulation & thin ply with a covering. That's not a lot & going out of your house & into the neighbors is a real possibility. Apartments it's even more risk.

  • @shananagans5 Very true! Thanks for the comment

  • I think going on average number of shots fired in a defensive situation is a little misleading. In most of those the perp runs away & few shots are fired. If they stay & fight or if they are determined to go after you specifically (granted that's rare) the rounds start flying & capacity is important. It isn't uncommon to have 10+ rounds fired in those situations. There are exceptions to every situation but just wanted to point out going on averages for defensive shootings can be misleading.

  • @shananagans5 I totally agree

  • What is your opinion on the sig p226 for home defense ?

  • @yadid Sig makes fine firearms!!! You could do a lot worse!!

  • An RPG to the chest is better than 8 45 acp rounds : P

  • @RockyMountainPrepper It's easier to conceal a 45 in a pair of swim trunks though!! LOL

  • how many handguns can u have in California??

  • @andybu123123 I don't know

  • if all these guns are good, then why have so many? you could only fire two at most. I think you may had a gun addiction problem my friend.

  • @TheErraticTheory LOL there's no problem to it, I enjoy firearms!

  • I still like the traditional Colt .45 ACP M1911, just 8 rounds but chambered in .45 ACP (I don't remember if that is supposed to be capitalized) one stop shot, and I don't think I am going to fight off more than 5 men (I am allowing for stutter shots). I actually like how the basic rule of thumb is if you shoot center mass at an attacker and they get back up, aim for the head, they are either wearing body armor or a zombie, either way, one .45 round to the head, they will not get back up.

  • @Jeremiah90526 Let's just hope they're not zombies!!! LOL Thanks

  • @Jeremiah90526 I hope someone would not be wearing a zombie. That would be seriously dark.

  • Dang your like Burt from Tremors lol.

  • The USA is one sick country

  • @Dommefriezen Is that Netherlands, or "nether regions"??? LOL

  • Great vid....awesome as usual! Thx..

  • @knoxclan2u Thanks bro!

  • i think revolvers capacity are fine for basic self defence, as long as its a 38 spl or better. however if i needed an offencive handgun i would want a semi auto that holds at least 15 rounds

  • @HunterKiller308 I agree, but when I think of an offensive firearm it's a long gun. Thanks

  • @GunznGear me too, i just meant if i was going to war or somthing i would want a hi capacity handgun

  • @HunterKiller308 go .357 all the way, a .38 won't take down everyone but i'm pretty sure a .357 will.

  • @redhotchilininja the .38 spl meets the 12" of penetration requirement to reach all vital organs at all angels of entry set by the FBI. foot pounds of energy is secondary to penetration. belive me a .38 will take anyone down, it all comes down to shot placment, hell you could take out a coked out line backer with a .22 if you know what your doing. with that being said i too prefer the .357, actually i like 41 the most when it comes to revolvers

  • aws table van. esp ( mod 66 ,357 ) bute ! Q... have u any opions on ww2 weapons, and do u own any apart from yr m1 carb. maybe ya could do a vid sme tme .....

  • @TheDada707 Yes, I have a few firearms from the WWII war, and yes I will someday make a vid on them. Thanks

  • you only need one well place bullet of any caliber to end a humans life

  • have you ever had to fire any of those guns? i guess i've been reading too much and i read that in any shooting, your firearm is confiscated for some time...is that true? i've had to resort to loading my 1911 instead of my hk45 just because i would hate to have to hand it over to law enforcement and have it mistreated.

  • @FUdirtbag No, I've never had to fire my gun in a self defense situation. I'm not a lawyer either, but I would imagine that if law enforcement shows up; they will collect any firearms on the scene for their safety. I would also think that they would keep any firearm that was used, untill they decide whether or not charges of a crime will be served. I'm not sure of LEO procedures, so maybe you should ask brotherskeeper111, he is a LEO.

  • @FUdirtbag Sorry, his channel name is brotherskeepers111

  • @GunznGear Thanks, I was able to find his channel and have already sent him some what if questions. It'll definetly put some parts of my mind at ease to see it from an officers perspective. Thanks again.

  • I JUST STUMBLED ACROSS YOUR CHANNEL. COOL CHANNEL, AND ........HOLY FKN GUNS!!!! THANKS

  • @AXXGOD1 Thanks...I think! LOL

  • Thanks for the video Van. I greatly appreciate your comment 'that every bullet fired has a lawyer attached to it".Gun owners need to realize that even carrying a full capacity weapon has legal conseqences. Massad Ayoob has several good videos on You Tube explaining the legal ramifications of firing , even a single round, in a public area.

  • @1278dave I've learned a great deal concerning legal consequences from Ayoob. I really enjoy his articles where he presents actual cases and how they were litigated. Thanks

  • @GunznGear....Good video. I can't speak for all californians but I would say it's pretty safe to say none of us good off capacity when thinking about carrying a gun for self denfense as we can't get more then 10 rounds unfortnately lol. From handguns to rifles we don't get more then 10 so I know for me it falls to what's reliable and what's easy to use which is why I'm buying a glock 26

  • @Jokerswild298 We should make every count whether we have 5, 10, or 50!! Thanks

  • I have been shot at fishing at nigfht before. Had no weapon and just had to hide for hours till I got up the balls to get back to my truck. There is no way to explain the feeling of being attacked for no reason. I made it due to the fact the shooter was on a bridge way up above me. But he was able to reload and fire again before he left. The only direction I had to go was into S.F. bay in the middle of december at midnight. I would have drowned. There are places and times you need a gun.

  • @harpoclarx I appreciate you sharing, thanks

  • Great video man, like you said, shot placement and accuracy is key, regardless of what caliber you choose

  • @brotherskeepers111 Thanks bro!!

  • I think most people take some security from large capacity guns. I have carried the 1911 with 7 rounds for years. As a cowboy shooter I've used the comfortable 45 long colt in both revolver and rifle. Granted, 6 shots won't save you from 10 people but more than half will have ruined days too. The point you made on being good with the gun, trusting it, is the best advantage there can be.

  • @alienbanjopicker I know some folks that are very capable with a single action Colt! I guess I've either carried a 1911 or a 6 shot 357mag revolver more than everything else combined, and I've never felt under gunned. Thanks

  • @GunznGear The only time I ever felt under gunned was during a competition, an old cylinder split. Cold day. hot rounds about 60 rounds fired and pop. I ended up using an unfamiliar gun took third in the over all. In all honesty I only own 4 hand guns. 3 of the four are single action revolvers and all 45 LC. Then I have the 1911. I've shot and owned others but there comes a time when comfort matters.Use what you have and use it well.

  • defense or shooting out of control?

A well placed .45 is better than 15 shots of 9mm.

  • @Rasteirinjo A well placed shot with any caliber is always better than multiple un aimed shots

  • Comment removed

  • I can't recall if you mentioned this, but high capacity is also very handy when you need to set up suppressive fire to allow you to move among cover positions or to escape. Not spray-n-pray, but true suppressive fire against an enemy behind cover. As an aside, after carrying my Glock 20 for a while, I always feel kind of light (undergunned) when I'm carrying anything less. I guess power is addictive. ;)

  • @PowerForGood It would be very rare indeed if military tactics such as suppressive fire could be deployed responsibly in a self defense situation. I really like the G20, it makes an excellent platform fo the 10mm.

  • @GunznGear Yes of course, you are probably right; especially for city folks. I live way out in the country and part of my love for the 10mm is its ability to shoot flat at distance and also to penetrate large hunt-back animals like bears, surprised elk and moose, etc.

It is such a light gun for the firepower it possesses too. Truth be told, I'd rather have my Redhawk if something big surprised me, but it is one heck of a boat anchor to carry. Anyway, great video as usual. Thanks.

  • @PowerForGood LOL Ruger Redhawks are heavy, but they're built like tanks!! Thanks

  • Sheesh. Gun Worship? What is that about? Great thoughts as usual. Thanks for this and all your vids.

  • @scooter17568 I really don't understand what kind of point he is trying to make. Thanks for the kind words

  • wow that is a kwel mag :) 30 lawyers :)

  • Spray & Prey :)

  • 12 Thugs with guns vs 1 guy with UZI - maybe :) but I doubt it.

  • what no mini UZI ?

  • If U need all these guns ... is is time to move :)

  • @mba2ceo No, I don't need all these guns, I wanted them

  • @GunznGear ... as long as U admit it.

  • @mba2ceo Nothing to "admit" I've been enjoying shooting and collecting firearms most of my life. It's my choice, and that's all there is to it. I don't have to admit or explain anything to you or anyone else!!

  • @GunznGear ... U do understand the definition of "admit" ?

  • @mba2ceo Yes I do, and apparently better than you. I refuse to be positioned to the point where I have to or need to explain why I own guns. I need not a reason other than freedom of choice. The connotation associated w/ the word admit suggests is negative or controversial position. You do not admit innocence.

  • @GunznGear I admit to being an emotional stable person without the necessity for false scene of security.

  • @mba2ceo Hahaha good for you!! I choose to be a freedom loving American, who has taken the responsibility for my own welfare. I choose not to sit idle and helplessly by, while others would harm my family and loved ones. I "admit" that I am strong and determined not to be victimized, while some have to depend on others for their security.

  • @GunznGear ...paranoid ?

  • @mba2ceo No, I never have been. That word is often used by weak minded people, who live in fear. I do not live in fear. I believe in being responsible and prepared. I also have smoke detectors and fire extinguishers, and that's not "paranoid" that's being responsible and prepared.

  • @GunznGear ... any POTASSIUM IODIDE Tablets ? or rubber covered toilets ? :)

  • @mba2ceo Your attempt to belittle only prove that you cannot respond to my position with knowledge and intelligence. Quite pitiful

  • @GunznGear ... U see nothing wrong with gun worship ?

  • @mba2ceo What the hell are you talking about???

  • outstanding video my friend...

  • @ls1dragracer Thanks bro

  • Most attacks start within 30 feet so don't forget train in at least some cqc.

  • @ripcord420 Yeah or even closer.

  • Great discussion...thanks for posting.

  • @DocTacDad Thanks, I appreciate it

  • Nice collection, have you got or had anything from the CZ line?

  • @ben2002100 Yes, I have a older CZ75 and I really like it. I love the High Power type grip. I haven't tried any of the newer variations. Thanks

  • Other than Chuck , I could listen to your vid's all day . god job Van !

  • @hazman440 Thanks bro!!

  • nice collection

  • @BIGGxDAWG210 Thank you

  • great vid...but NY takes half the guns off the table with our 10 rnd max capacity...gggrrrrrr....great collection by the way

  • @str8jacket07 You folks in NY need to get together and change some things there. Thanks

  • great vid! I agree 100%. I currently carry a full size m&p 9mm and i love it. but I am looking forward to the XDS coming out. up the caliber and drop the capacity.

  • @tommymac88 That XDS looks very interesting. I bet it will give the G36 a little competition. Thanks

  • You made my mind up glock 36 it is nice vid peace bro

  • @MrDawg122 The Glock 36 is a handy little gun! Thanks

  • good vid, nice, very nice pistola collection, your wife must b awesome!... most talk 45, shoot 9mm, & carry .38, just sayin.

  • @jwgbmp40 My wife knew what she was getting into from the begining, she has become a gun lover herself. Yeah, that's an old saying that applies today as much as it did yrs back. Thanks

  • Great video..... ;) c

  • @SoulSurvivorX2 Thanks

  • god vid, the Marine Corps motto is 1 round 1 kill, so know you weapon and know you ability first. I carry a kel-tec p11 12 round mag.

  • @Downeast1100 Thanks, I've read some good things about the Kel-Tec P11's

  • That USP Expert .40 is such a great gun. Easily my personal favorite handgun. The only way they could have made it better is if it had a 10mm option. The 10mm is just like the .41 mag; it just didn't quite catch on to the general public like I had hoped.

  • @wimplos I would love to see HK include 10mm handguns in their lineup!!

  • a lot of people dont realize that 9mm 124gr +P ammo has considerably more ft lbs of energy than standard .45 acp fmj. granted thats comparing a self defense round to ball ammo, but a lot of people carry standard ball ammo in their 1911's. theres no doubt you can get a lot more ft lbs with a good self defense loading for .45 acp, but the point im trying to make is that the 9mm with proper ammo is plenty sufficient. the problems with the 9mm we all hear about are usually from the FMJ rounds.

  • @1cme1 It's my understanding, that Gold Dot 124gr +P 9mm is very popular w/ police departments. 9mm -vs- 45acp is a whole different debate, but I get your point. Thanks

  • I used to carry a XDM-9 with 19+1....after lugging it around I decided to move down to a smaller gun. I had a PPS9 and it was an excellent gun, but I started thinking about capacity again. So I sold it in hopes of getting a XDMc9. I ended up with a S&W BG .38....5 shots yes, but I don't plan on facing big groups. I love it and carry it everyday and everywhere that I can legally. I lean more to revolvers now, simple to operate. In the future I'd like to get a S&W 386 or 327 Night Guard.

  • @vash241987 Nothing like a good revolver!! Either one of those revolvers would be a great edition to any collection. Thanks

  • Cool vid bro, you're very well versed and make excellent points.

  • @GunsNGauze Thanks for the kind words.

  • Couldn't agree more. Every one thinks they need a 15+ rd gun and the worlds best sights on their carry guns. When in fact the guns are more capable out of the box then the person using it will ever be. For me its a stock! HK45 fullsize

  • @HKmanlp1 The HK45 is a nice handgun, and I agree that my guns are much more accurate than I am.

  • Nice video. Subbed! ;)

  • @surfboardhacker Thank you!

  • Great topic. Love my LCR 357 these days.

  • @OilTheGun Now that's a light weight powerhouse!! Thanks my friend

  • @OilTheGun I'm considering an LCR in .357 as my next handgun. Can you really recommend it?

  • @fry11guy Yes sir, so far so good. I'm heading to the range right now to shoot it, may have a video up this week.

  • i thought the Glock 21 with the Kriss Super V's 30 round mag was crazy, then you come along with the 10mm with 36 rounds, Jeez man, you might as well go with a 100 rd 9mm Beta-mag

  • @Umimugo Do they make one of those in 10mm??? LOL

  • Where in the name of god did you get that 1911 mag?!

  • @snikwah25 LOL I got it at a gun show about 20yrs ago.

  • some very good points. i want one of them S&W M&P 40 compacts.

  • @josephd27 I really like the S&W M&P's, thanks

  • @GunznGear there one of my favs, but havent had good luck with steel cased and hard primmer ammo. everthing else works perfectly

  • @josephd27 Good to know. I usually don't use steel cased ammo except for AK's. Thanks

  • @josephd27 Good to know. I usually don't use steel cased ammo except for AK's. Thanks!

  • Absolutely agree Van! That is the way we've got to think about self defense, shooting should be the last thing we want to do, it may have serious repercussions!

  • @FP541 Thanks, I appreciate it!

  • heeh you should see the 2nd 1911 i bought of 2012 lol another sig lol

  • @23mrcowboys I bet it's a nice one!!

  • @CavemanCoochie If the occasion should ever arise, my loved ones will be well armed

  • @MrSwiftndeadly Thanks for the comment bro!!

  • You see, the load chosen is just as important as the caliber, and especially in the lower calibers.

The bigger caliber with the heavier bullet simply does the same work easier. When you drop caliber, the smaller cartridge must be pushed harder to make up for the difference in weight.

  • @micromanish Big and slow -vs- small and fast is a different debate, and it's a great one!

  • ahh i think i just wet myself! all those awesome guns!

  • @23mrcowboys LMAO Didn't you buy this many guns last month??

  • Well done and well said...it's not the gun in my opinion, it's how well the person holding it is trained. Single shot or mini gun, gotta know what you're doing first. Don't know what you're doing, the gun is just a paperweight that is gonna bite you in the end.

  • @tim12161974 I totally agree! Thanks Tim

  • That 10mm glock mag was sick! Good video

  • @lordmegamatt LOL Thanks

  • I think the moral of the story is to always have a firearm and to train with that firearm. IMHO it's more important to at least be armed than it is about capacity. For example I have a Bond Arms Derringer that I use as a backup gun. However, I have carried it alot as a primary and feel very confident that it would get the job done. Two rounds of .410 ooo buck is nothing to sneeze at - especially in tight quarters (20 feet or less). Anything further than that then I would wish I had another gun.

  • @BSRadar100 Much of the discussions over defensive firearms is personal preference. If you have confidence and competence you will be prepared. Thanks

  • @GunznGear BTW - sweet collection. I especially like your Colt Delta Elite and the H&K P30. Great stuff man - really enjoyed your video. As far as derringers - the only one I would trust to carry is the Bond Arms - it's a tank and very reliable. But if shtf I would really wish I had my Colt Commander. Just sayin.

  • @BSRadar100 Derringers have really come a long way in recent years, and Bond Arms has led the way. I agree w/ you, if the poop hits the fan, I would want a 1911 too.

  • I tell you what man, I've looked at a ton of firearm videos here on YouTube, and I have say that was one of the best I've seen. People who are getting a cwp should watch your video before considering what they will carry. Great job!

  • @TheCoroncachannel Wow Thanks for the kind words!

  • Nice collection Bother

  • @SouthernGunz Thank you bro

  • A bucket full of bullets... Sounds like a spaghetti Western title...LOL...Good Stuff Bro and very good subject. I agree with masterprepper as much as you feel you need....

  • @RisArms LOL Starring Clint Eastwood!!

I agree, much of the thought on capacity is personal preference. Thanks Bro

  • +1 for the 1911

  • @e1ghtys1x It's hard to beat a good 1911! Thanks

  • Do they still make those 25 round 1911 mags I've never seen those before. lol

  • @Mr1911guy I have no idea. I saw that mag at a gun show more than 20yrs ago. I had forgotten all about it untill recently.

  • How much is enough ?..... as much as you feel you need !

  • @masterprepper Well said!

  • I'm a big fan of that SW627 to me it's a great home defense gun

  • @revolver8shot It is a great revolver. I agree that it would make an awesome home defense gun. Thanks

  • Good stuff partner!

  • @CTKTMRIDER Thanks buddy!

  • If you shoot 3 of the attackers, then the rest would be crazy not to run away. By then there would be plenty of help.

  • @commieforniatactical Maybe...Maybe not, I prefer avoiding them all together.

  • Awesome!Thanks!

  • @labandit1 You're welcome

  • There will be an infinate number of opinions on calibre, capacity, style, weight etc which I feel are mostly subjective. After seeing armed senario testing which aimed to understand CCW holders real responses to a situation requiring deadly force - it is my opinion that the more important issue is in-depth senario training, weapon familiarity and practice. I would be satisfied with someone carrying a 8 shot 9mm defending my life if they could respond to armed situations with competence.

  • @bitpri05 I totally agree! Thanks

  • Nice quick overview of a whole basket of guns. Since I'm limited to 10 rounds of anything here, capacity can't be a factor .. I've had resort to weekly trips to the range and thousands and thousands of rounds to try to get most shots reasonably close to where I want them to go! Poor Me! LOL

  • @ElDub50 Thanks, It's a shame we have to practice so often... but it is fun!!

  • I need a belt fed 1911,lol. :) Where can I get one ?

  • @MyHollowpoint

You need a belt oh right! ... Of whiskey!

  • @ebomey You don't want to be around me on whiskey :) The Indian comes out :)

  • @MyHollowpoint

I don't want to be around you on water!

  • @MyHollowpoint I don't know...BUT if you find them, let me know!!! LOL

  • @MyHollowpoint Maybe look for a drum mag for a 1911 lol

  • When think about gun to CCW I have consider because of my what is both safe comfortable to carry I mainly stick with revolvers because simplicity and reliability. Both the 38 special an and S&W 9MM compact would be great because they are small an compact. I have high capacity handguns but I've never found a really comfortable way to carry them.
