Just as "Atheistchaos" said, if you want something "new" try another genre. Please WoW-players, don't tell me Aion's just like wow. In aion, you can customize your character SO much. You can dye your armor. You can customize your character more here, than in The Sims 2. Good job NCsoft 5*
MMOs all are similar because that style of game is the MMO genre. If you want a different game to play with your friends try a different genre of game.
If you think simply adding more races to a game makes it less limited then you really need to expand your horizons. I don't care so much about what species my character is as long as the gameplay is enjoyable, and aion's combat changes will do more than you know. If you're wondering, yes, I've played the beta.

Agreed the Asmos look like what? Dark Elfs from Lineage 2, which came out before WoW, so don't compare either side to WoW because they are more like Lineage 2 characters which was out way before WoW.

It's too bad that there are no options for Elyos and Asmodians to cooperate in this game. Creating hatredful factions like that will only cause people to have chauvinistic reactions for one of them, it's already happening.
It reminds me of some game where they use to say FOR THE *name of Faction*.
I wonder how long it will take until this spreads and that we see For The Elyos or Asmodians all over the forums :S

Just read the lore from each. It's easy to see that the Elyos are so stuck on themselves that they think they are right simply because of the shell they were born on. Too prideful to admit they were wrong in trying to talk peace with the Balors.

You know, I went to the AION site and saw the info on the Balaur thinking they were a playable race, but then found out they arn't.
If the Asmodians are as dark as Aion playable races will get, I might not be going into the world of Aion after all.
I'm so tired of games that are so limited. At least a few, like the ancient game Horizons actually let you play as non-humanoids, including dragons.

Its just so boring to see all the same MMO's make the same kinds of choices over and over.
These "new" MMO's are nothing but slightly prettier upgrades of the last 8 years.
WoW isn't doing it for me anymore. Guild Wars wasn't so great. RF Online was fun, and at least tried to do something different before they shut down.
When will a new MMO come out that breaks out of the standard frame?!?

Aion looks great, and I'm sure it will be popular.
The combat systems look standard though, with a bit more visual attitude to move it slightly beyond much else out there.
Other than that, I'm sad to see not much looks different.
I'll be seeing the Aion guys at PAX in a few weeks, if they will be there, so hopefully they will have something unique to say.

You can take the alliance out of wow, but the same lame people will always be alliance even in a different game. Horde for life, Asmodians for life.
