Cousin Jimmy (James Karen) is still getting things done (recent LMN docu about Drew Peterson)--played the minister. Finally got around to ordering this movie (from Albiris)---it's a must for everyone's collection. Now have to get this record.
near the beginning of the movie frankenstein meets the space monster, they show seens along a1a in cocoa beach and cape canaveral, fl. and nasa space center back in 1965
thank you so much for posting this lost classic from the distant cousins. this beautiful song is from my all time favorite cult classic film 'frankenstein meets the space monster' [1965]. this song especially at the ending credits of the film are what made me a fan of this movie in the first place! hopefully new listeners will come to appreciate this romantic classic too.
They need a Criterion Edition of this movie . Thanks for posting this. I was watching my DVD, typed in a search for the song and bango, I'm watching it on the computer and TV
This is a great tune, very romantic and reminsiscent of the Chad and Jeremy/ Peter and Gordon genre of the mid-60's. Too bad it didn't get the notoriety it deserved.

Raymond and I wrote and recorded this song and it got us into the music business. I love it to this very day. It feels like Paul and John wrote and sung it themeselvves, but it's my dear late pal and partner. Raymond Lafayette Bloodworth. L.Russell Brown
100Ribbons. Are you Larry of the Distant Cousins? Where did you record the song? I was 16, 17 when this came out and went to Puerto Rico as an extra, running around like a lunatic avoiding the aliens. What a terrific-bad movie. It was fun doing it and singing this song. A a big thank you for the composition.
Hey Uncle Larry just lettin you know if you read this we got DVD copies of Frankenstien Meets the Space Monster. I was so thrilled me and ma watched it...great song !
vamthea..say a little more about this song, please. I happened upon this vid today. I was an extra in this pic when they filmed in Puerto Rico and played some background music on the side. Sorry to hear Raymond passed. I have loved this song. Thanks for posting, nancy-o. And thanks Ray for the talent. May you rest in peace.
Raymond Bloodworth and I met while at FT Gordon GA at a graduation ceremony for code school we had both attended. We were seated alphbetically.
Bloodworth Brown as we sat there, The hit song Johnny your to young to get married was playing. Raymond sang the first lines and I sang the next ones. I turned to him and said, WOW you have a great . we wrote
Thanks for the responses, I happened to come across this browsing youtube. Raymond Bloodworth was my father. He and my uncle Larry wrote this and recorded it. Raymond Bloodworth passed away July 18th 2007. While I am far from talented as my father he had a big influence on the unorthodox styles of entertainment I like as he provided a nucleus from which to appreciate different styles.
this is also from the monumental film "frankenstien meets the space monster".terrible movie that was so bad,its good!!! check out the other song from this blockbuster, "that the way its got to be" by the poets.
For some unknown reason, this song came into my head this morning. It was an obscure little 1 hit wonder in its heyday, and nobody had ever heard of it back then. You have equally stunned and delighted me by posting this. I was beginning to think that I'd imagined it all these years. My sincere thanks.

Ironically, these two scenes are the most genuinely scary from the movie. I mean, they're not even wearing helmets!
